18 bicyclists stayed at the Bighorn Lodge. Dave Nye was a wonderful host and shared much of his knowledge of local wildlife. It is a beautiful setting and a magnificent lodge. Rooms were quite spacious and extremely well decorated. I would love to come back, when not on a bicycle trip and be ablel to spend more time there.

This nice, large lodge is in a beautiful setting in the forest overlooking a meadow. The owner didn't realize we were reserved for the night when we arrived, but he discounted the room rate. He was also preoccupied with a utility serviceman that was there and with whom he was upset. He made us a very good breakfast in the morning, and also told us his life story as we ate.....which was pleasant but more information than we needed.

The room was spacious and had a small sofa; the bathroom was very commodious and nicely appointed.

There is no other lodging in this area within the NW corner of Montana, as I understand it, So, if you want a private getaway amidst beautiful lush green forest, stay here.

What an outstanding trip! We stayed for 7 days and wished we could have stayed longer. The lodge is well kept and up to date the food is very good. This is no Foo Foo place. If you are looking for near by shopping and fancy places to eat keep looking. If you are looking for an outstanding fishing and hunting lodge stay here. Dave is more than helpful and his staff works very hard at making you feel right at home.Cant wait to go back.

We're so delighted to have stayed at Bighorn Lodge. This location wasn't on our original itinerary, but made for some of our very best days in Montana. The host, Dave Nye, provides a warm and entertaining welcome and his property is in a stunning part of the Bull River Valley, facing the Cabinet Mountains. Rooms are well-designed, elegant and comfortable. Little touches adorn tables and corners - from books of local poets to early morning log fires in the main sitting room, busts of stags and deer, a mountain-facing hot-tub and hearty breakfasts to sustain on the many local activities. Dave lent us a canoe to paddle down the river and as the sun shone across the water and mountains, we had the feeling that we had truly 'got away from it all'.
Dave is a charming and gentlemanly host who makes guests want to return again and again. He remembered I didn't eat strawberries and made me an individual smoothy for breakfast. A little example of his thoughfulness, attention to detail and care. Bighorn Lodge is somewhere you don't want to tell too many people about...

Our family of 6 adults and two children spent three nights at Bighorn, though only two were originally planned. Our family reunion was a huge success thanks to host Dave Nye. The views are great. Breakfasts were really superb. We booked a room at the lodge as well as booking the River House. Everything was new and very clean. Please consider staying here if you are anywhere nearby. You will love it just as much as we did. A great value.

We spent one night at the Bighorn Lodge in July and had a very nice stay. The lodge is a newer building, in good condition with a nice, open floor plan. Our room was large with a very comfortable queen bed. Even though it was hot during the day, the room cooled down nicely at night. It was very peaceful on the deck overlooking the river, with only a few bugs. When checking in we were asked what time we wanted breakfast - a nice departure from fixed serving times. Our breakfast was very good - scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon, biscut, and fresh fruit (the fruit was a pleasant surprise as it is almost 50 miles to a store with a complete produce department, so a pain for the owners to provide). The manager and her children were wonderful and made us feel at home.

The "River House" is available for a family or small group and seemed like a very nice place to stay (we are considering having a small family reunion at Bighorn Lodge and wanted to check out the house).

All in all, a very comfortable, remote and relaxing place to visit. We will go back.
