We expected a great time of refreshment and mountain resort. Though the area is a beautiful area, Chico is at the end of the road, nestled in a location that does not really give you the full views. The lodge lobby is quaint and attractive. But the beds were incredibly hard, the hot springs pool was full of families and children (which kept anyone from just exercising and enjoying), and the grill/saloon's food stayed with us longer than we wished. Though the dining room is absolutely excellent, our stay was only average. Since we heard so many good things from other people, we were actually disappointed with the stay. In fact, as I described it to an coworker at the office later, he said, "Oh, I wish I warned you about their beds." So this review warns others as you read.

We went just for the hot spring during the week, about 11 am, it was somewhat busy, we got the last 2 lounge chairs. The pool itself is Olympic size, but REALLY needs some work, tiles missing, gum stuck to the side (yuk), crap floating in the pool, the deck area desperately needed to be swept clean... 2 men came in about 2 pm and spent literally a moment or 2 netting junk out of the pool, that didn't do much good. BTW - no lifeguard or anything, the diner there was supposed to open at 11, someone finally showed up about 12:30 Lots of steps to get to the pool area from the parking lot. All this for $8 a person. No, we won't go back, there are others, better too.

This is just a one of a kind place. The hot spring pool is just awesome, relaxing and refreshing. Hot water just keeps getting pumped in . Nice little bar to get adult beverages and locker rooms to change.

What this place really has figured out is customer service. Yes, it is a great setting, delicious food, and the hotsprings - but to me what sets this place apart is that you are treated like a special guest. Never mind that they have many, many guests - they have a knack for making you feel well taken care of.

I loved the location of this place!!! We drove 30 minutes North of Gardiner, where we were staying to enjoy some time at the hot springs and were not disappointed. Surrounded by mountains and great views! My whole family enjoyed soaking and playing at the pool. The locker rooms were clean as was the pool area. All the staff were friendly and helpful. The gift shop was cute with a great selection. I would love to go back, stay there and maybe do the horse back riding and some spa time.
