“Wildly Exceeded Expectation”
Reviewed 28 July 2013

We spent 4 nights in the Granite Cabin in late July 2013. We had seen their web site which showed these beautiful cabins in great detail. All I can say is that the web site does not do the property justice...it was far MORE beautiful! Kevin and Tammy are wonderful hosts. The wildlife we saw in only 4 days was incredible. Deer, elk, beavers, turkeys, sand hill cranes, etc... it was truly Wild Kingdom. The view from our bed was breath taking. Watching the sun rise...then set on those beautiful mountains was spectacular. The cabin itself was pure luxury. There are only 5 cabins. It is basically a couples retreat, which suited us perfectly. My wife had saved a clipping from a magazine years ago and vowed one day to visit. Now we wish we had visited sooner. We are already planning our return, possibly even this fall. KEVIN AND TAMMY, THANK YOU FOR A WONDERFUL VISIT!

Wow! We're speechless! This place is a little slice of heaven on earth! We came here on our honeymoon and stayed in the 'Spirit' cabin. So luxurious! We can't wait to come back already! We plan to come back on one of our milestone anniversaries. The views are perfect, the hosts (Kevin and Tammy) are SO accommodating - they'd do anything for you, animals galore, neat lookouts, and more! This place is nestled in the most perfect location - close to the breathtaking beartooth highway and yellowstone! Lots of great trails, brew pubs, and neat shops in and around Red Lodge. Lots of options of things to do, but we tended to just stick around our cabin.

This review is for our previous 4 stays at the Blue Sky Cabins since 2006. In fact my wife and I will be going back this fall for our 5th time and we know we will have another great time. These cabins are wonderful, clean and well kept and the setting couldn’t be more fantastic. The cabins look towards the Beartooth Mountains which offer great hiking and scenery to explore. The photos don’t do the cabins and scenery justice. Kevin and Tammy are great inn keepers and they make you feel at home. We feel we have made very good friends with them and look forward to seeing them again. If you want to experience the true meaning of Big Sky Montana, there is no other place like the Blue Sky Cabins.

Room Tip: All the cabins are great. Just pick one. You won't be disappointed.

We stayed here in the Granite Cabin for 2 nights towards the end of our Yellowstone trip. This was our anniversary present to ourselves, and it was worth every penny! This was without a doubt our favorite place we've ever stayed. So beautiful and relaxing! It was wonderful to sit outside and look at the mountains, look at the wildlife, star gaze. We loved wandering down to the beaver pond to watch the beaver and muskrat swim. We planned to stick close to the cabin and cook/grill all of our meals. It was so relaxing, especially after running around Yellowstone for several days. The first night was clear; the second night was windy and cloudy. DH was grilling and called me outside - several deer were walking across the driveway under a rainbow. Just perfect. The cabin was very clean, we loved the theming and level of detail they put into the cabin. Everything was very nice, and everything was as comfortable as you could want.

This was our second trip to Blue Sky Cabins and this trip we stayed at the newly renovated Sylvan Cabin. Previous stay was at the Spirit Cabin and was equally wonderful. The Sylvan has a separate bedroom with a dreamy memory foam king bed, flat screen TV, two person spa overlooking the beartooths and bathroom with shower. The living area had an equally awesome view and small gas stove that provides lovely ambiance. I just love the wood accents - namely how they integrated two large trees into the headboard. I do recommend if arriving at night to make sure you have a detailed map and directions. My GPS stopped working partway through. It is very remote but don't let that deter you. It is luxury and every detail is attended to. The fully equipped kitchen has all you need for making some meals, they even leave you coffee, orange juice and eggs for breakfast! Kevin and Tammy are wonderful hosts. Kevin had the cabin opened up, fireplace on and greeted us even though we were arriving around 8pm and with a happy birthday bottle of wine waiting for me! It is the perfect place to just escape. Once we get here we don't even plan to leave. It's quiet, relaxing and if you are needing a place to relax and reconnect, this is it! We will hopefully make this a yearly stay!

Room Tip: All the cabins are wonderful. They all have beautiful views and unique features that make them speci...

We came here for our honeymoon, and it was wonderful. We stayed in the Spirit cabin. It was very clean and very cozy. It had a two person shower and steam room and a large two person hot tube in the living area. The views of the mountains were spectacular and tons of wild life. We even had a little snow, which was beautiful. The town of Red Lodge was fun and peaceful. Plus, the steak at the Grizzly Bar was the best I have ever had. Put this place on your list to stay. It is more than worth it. Thank you Kevin and Tammy for making our honeymoon unforgettable.

Room Tip: All the cabins are great. No need to worry if the one you want is unavailable.

There shall be a place in the rocky mountains, which is so beautiful, that there is no Tripadvisor rating lower than 5 stars.

Can this be true? Yes it can.

This is one of the most beautiful and relaxing places. And so I have to add another 5 star rating to the list! The cabins are plush and cosy and the place is quiet with stunning views on the rockies. Drive one of the most exciting roads - the Beartooth Highway - towards Yellowstone or just sit on the verandah and relax.
