“Wonderful relaxing find in Big Sky Country”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 9 July 2013

Spent three nights here. Our hosts Jeff and John were perfect; Thier home has just two guest rooms, so when we eat it's always family style with them! The first night it was just four of us, and we ate outside on the wonderful deck overlooking the mountians....and an occational deer that hops in! And what wonderful scrumptious meals. Since this is a Dinner and bed, for breakfast they only provide coffee, and maybe some homebaked bread if Jeff is so inclined to bake it! They grow their own vegetables in various plots in their yard. Very comfortable home and guest rooms, and they really treat you like family. Beautiful area, with a wonderful place to stay.; I hope to return again!

Room Tip: Make sure to get directions, as the last 1/4 mile is on a dirt road.. GPS will NOT be accuate!

Anyone traveling I-90 in Montana should make an extra effort to stay at "Cowboy Up bed and dinner, St Regis. John and Jeff are really interesting and the dinnertime conversation is so much fun. Plus, birding from their deck is well worth it. Their place is just beautiful and so relaxing. After a delicious dinner made with some of their own garden vegetables we all topped the day off sitting by the fire pit and watched the stars come out. All in all, it was such a unique and fun and pleasant experience that I hope to stop by again when I am in Montana.

Room Tip: Both rooms are just great and the beds very comfortable.

We were greeted by Jeff with lots of enthusiasm and got a grand tour of the wonderful gardens and the beautifully decorated house.
After moving into our comfortable rooms (even with pillows to choose from) and a realxing time in the garden watching the hummingbirds and looking out for deer, we were called in for supper. The smell was heavenly!
The nicely set table and the good conversation was enjoyable, but the food, hmmmmm too good to be true, we had delicious chicken with a caper sauce, lemon basil pasta, glazed carrots and a veggie pot pie for my vegetarian husband.
I think we did not leave a morsel, it was just sooo tasty!
And than he brought out a delicious pear tart for desert....I think it was the best I ever had!

The beds were so comfy I overslept and had to be rushed out to get ready to leave;-)

We would love to come again and enjoy more of their food and hospitality!

Nice, nice people. Excellent dinners with fun conversation! Beautiful home where we were welcomed both evenings like well-loved family. I would suggest bringing your own pillow if you're very picky but otherwise every need was met.

Room Tip: Both rooms are attractive and comfortable.

This was our 2nd stay at Cowboy Up and things are the same or better! Both Jeff & John are welcoming hosts and things started with homemade salsa and chips outside for Happy Hour. After a garden tour, requested by us, we moved to a GREAT dinner of chicken picata, lemon/basil pasta, fresh veggies and apple tort for dessert....in additon to good conversation, the food was great! The rooms are like being guests in someone's home...and you are. Shared bath, but private rooms. A GREAT stop in St. Regis and a perfect place to break up a trip East from Seattle!

Out in the country Jeff and John have created a niche for themselves which you'll love. Dinner instead of breakfast (my preference). It's cooked perfectly and is absolutely delicious, most of it from their own garden.

We shared a bathroom with another couple. It was pretty warm weather and our room could have used a little more ventilation.

We recently spent the night at Jeff and John's Montana Roadhouse and can highly recommend their "bed and dinner" establishment. They were incredibly hospitable and served a delicious dinner, using ingredients from their plentiful garden. Their home is decorated in a western motif with artifacts from their rodeo days and the wild west. Guests will find plenty of places to relax and enjoy the incredible mountain and pasture views: the wrap-around porch, covered garden patio, the evening fire pit circle, and their cozy living room. Our bed was comfortable, and we had a bathroom to ourselves.

Jeff and John went the extra mile when we noticed we had left a wallet behind. They were shopping in Missoula and made the trip back earlier than intended to let us search our room. Great guys! Yes, the wallet was waiting for us.
