We stayed in the Moose cabin and had a wonderful vacation. From the beginning Cynthia was very helpful and professional. She was always very quick to respond when we had questions or needed info. The cabin was great. Very clean, spacious and had all the perks of home. Full kitchen, washer/dryer, 2 TV's with cable and a comfortable bed. Lots of space to spread out and relax after long days of traveling in the Park.
Location ,Location, Location. The cabin was basically a couple blocks from the West Entrance to Yellowstone. Major perk is that it is across the street from Ernie's Bakery. Great breakfast in the A.M. and they will pack a lunch for you. Restaurants and Shops of West Yellowstone are within walking distance or a 2 minute drive. This was our 3rd visit to Yellowstone and our 1st time with Yellowstone Wildlife Cabins. We wish we had discovered this great place on our 1st visit. We will be back. Thanks Cynthia for all your help.

I will not come back.
1. Everything in the place is really old. And I saw a big spider when first opened the door.
2. Bedrooms are tiny. One of bedroom is almost the same size with the bed. We can only get off from one side of the bed.
3. The heating system is extremely loud. (It's cold during the night in August, but we can't sleep after turning the heat on because of the noise and vibration.) too bad for my old parents and babies.
4. They come to check stuffs while our family was away. Not sure if that's their policy.
5. It seems built on old mobile home.
6. For price we paid, we definitely deserve a better place.

YWC, Manager at Yellowstone Wildlife Cabins, responded to this reviewResponded 10 September 2013

We are always concerned when we get a review that is not excellent. However, I am not sure this is for our property as there is no unit name listed and usually our guests list which unit they stayed in. We do sometimes get confused with other lodging establishments in West Yellowstone.

However, if it is for us, I am sorry you did not enjoy your stay! We always check with our guests on how everything is and if we can make it better.

Spiders unfortunately are a condition we are not in control of but we do our best to make sure there are none in your unit. Most here are harmless.

As to age and other things - since we don't know what unit this was for and are not sure if it is us - we can't really comment. All of our units are either new or completely refurbished within the last 4 years. We do not go into the unit unless it is necessary (don't know reason).

Again - if this is for us - we are sorry you did not enjoy your stay!

We stayed at the Moose Cabin On August 23-26. Very homey and comfortable feeling cabin. It was so wonderful to have a nice "home" to come back to after very long days in Yellowstone. The location is perfect. Very close to Yellowstone entrance yet far enough away from the main street to be quiet. Although this cabin is located near the main street, we were not bothered by traffic noise in least bit. We would recommend the Yellowstone Wildlife Cabins to any of our friends.

We stayed in Bison home for three night in last Oct. We got a big surprise while arrived. The house has fully equipped kitchen. You can find every thing you need for cooking. You know, even for we chinese people,we can get enough we need to cook chinese food. Also, they have washing machine ans liquid soap. With which we can handle the dirty clothes during Las Vegas,it is expensie there!

By the way, would like to say "sorry" to Cynthia, sorry for the late review. However,my wife and I would like to be back again next time!

We spent 5 nights in West Yellowstone in end of July and stayed at Yellowstone Wildlife Cabins (Moose Cabin). We are a family of 4 (two kids aged 12 and 10). It was our first visit to YNP and we knew little about the area. We felt fortunate to have picked the right place. It is a perfect base. We thought of staying in a hotel/motel first; then the laundry and kitchen facilities made us change our minds. The cabin has a living room with a pull out full size futon (comfortable sleeps 2) and a bedroom with a queen/king size bed. There is a laundry room with washer & dryer; and a fully applianced kitchen (not modern with all the bells and whistles but more than adequate). There was also a grill outside. Following are specific thoughts:

Pros
- ability to cook and pack picnic meals and bring it to the park saved us a lot of money
- the laundry comes in handy; we packed pretty light knowing there was laundry; with all the physical activities we did, we could wash and dry our clothes very easily
- beds were comfortable; we spent about 10-12 hours at the park, great to come to comfy beds and rooms
- wireless internet available; though we spent little time in the cabin, great to have internet access to check on activities and suggestions about the park
- supplies were made available (laundry detergent, basic cooking materials - oil, sugar .... )
- very clean
- perfect location - very close to town and most importantly, 5-10 mins to park entrance!!!
- very accessible and friendly manager
- comparing with prices of other lodging, this is a really great deal (and considering the money you can save in food)

Cons:
- the plumbing works fine but can be better due to low water pressure; the manager was aware of it. We never had problems with the shower or the toilets but the pressure was slightly lower than normal
- it could get quite hot even at 7 or 8 pm when we returned and the first afternoon when we got there (no A/C - which was expected; fans were there to help cool the room)
- it was located in a corner of a street that didn't 'appear' to be very attractive'; this is not that important as once you went inside, you're in a very great base.

If we return to YNP, we will choose this entrance and definitely this cabin again!
