What a great day! Yellowstone supplied the natural beauty of both the landscape and the wildlife, but David Alder, our tour guide, made it all come to life with his wealth of information. It is a rare individual that can even make a rock seem interesting. He conveys a deep passion for this park which gave us a respect for the park and its wildlife instead of just seeing the scenery. We had contemplated driving through Yellowstone on our own and are so glad that we went with Lava Creek instead. Yes, we would have saved some money, but we wouldn't have gotten nearly as much out of Yellowstone. We were with 3 kids, 9-12 yrs old, who were already sick of being in the car so much. David began the day by feeling out what our interests and goals were in Yellowstone and then set about designing the day. He was great with our kids and stayed engaged with them. He specifically told us that his goal was to keep the kids focus with him so that the adults too could get a break! Like I said, a great day! A private tour with Lava Creek is the only way to go.
