Where do we start!!

In our opinion, the other poor reviews for this place are accurate. Unfortunately, we did not see these reviews until after we stayed. Here are 10 things to consider if you plan to stay here. When we opened up the door, we were met with the following:

1. "Stained" carpets. We chose not to play a guessing game as to the causes...
2. What appeared to be pre-slept in beds..you know how the sheets look wrinkly and pressed when compared to freshly made beds. We put our kids in sleeping bags on top of the bed.
3. Serious "febreze" smelling sheets (Given what we already saw it made us wonder if this was done rather than wash them?)
4. What appeared to be oily stained pillows from greasy hair/heads.
5. Shower/tub had nice black hair in it.
5. Shower/tub surround shelves for placing your shampoo bottles on had enough dust/debris on them they had likely not been cleaned for weeks or ??
6. Outlets will not keep your items plugged in. You have to prop them in place.
7. No TV remotes. How did people survive in the 70's and 80's!!
8. Light bulbs burned out and another burned out while there the one night we stayed.
9. Bring your own alarm clock. Or just rely on your neighbors.
10. At the time of staying, the price was about $139 per night. Given what was offered, and compared with other hotels in town, this should be about $40 per night, or about 75% less than others. (Over priced)

We will never return to this hotel...and we've stayed at some pretty rustic local hotels/motels as they can add to the experience of a trip, rather than the typical chain hotel. Maybe if "some of the guys" are using the place for a hunting camp, maybe....but we discovered a lot of cool log cabins and other places that deserve a look so....

Room Tip: Also the sign says Yellowstone Country Inn (see photos) although this website lists it as Big Weste...

Looked good on-line but looks are deceiving., None of the outlets would let you charge your phone or batteries...Had to prop up the charger with a pillow for one outlet and a mascara balanced on top of the refrigerator plug on another....A/C was too noisy to have on. WiFi was only available at the front desk a little inconvenient. Towels and sheets clean but looked like they re-used some of the "complimentary toiletries".
Pool was disgusting..green and looked like it had sludge floating on top....front desk personel was nice enough and helpful when asked not a lot of personality tho...The price was high also. We also had a non-smoking room that obviously had had smokers in it. The rest of our family had already checked us in, otherwise I would have asked for a different room...A little Febreeze would have done wonders.... We were in first floor rooms on the right. Across the parking lot it looked like those rooms had been renovated, but never had a look inside. So you might ask....

Just out to Yellowstone January 2005. There was a group of 9 of us that rented the cabin. We were informed there was room enough to sleep 20+ (which there is plenty of room to sleep), a full kitchen, 2 bathrooms, plenty of parking, complamentary breakfast, and it would be serviced daily by the hotel staff.
The location is great. There is plenty of parking. We did have some very tall men (6'2"+) in the group and it was difficult for them to walk in the first floor. The celings were QUITE low. There are 2 bedrooms on the first floor with 2 double beds. A TV area with 2 sofas and a love seat and a chair (looks like my college dorm room stuff). The TV no longer had a remote as the owner did not want to keep replacing it after being stolen often. We were told that afternoon when we checked in that there was NO breakfast waiting for us in the morning. We would have to get that on our own. Whomever we spoke with (2 different times) missinformed us. The upstairs had at least 6 beds, again the taller man had to sleep with their feet hanging off. Though, the upstairs had a vaulted ceiling with no problem with headroom. I was the first to try to take a shower. My first attempt was in the downstairs restroom. Luckilly our group had a carpenter amoungst us because he had to fix the hot water faucet in the shower...it was so stripped we couldn't even turn it on! I ventured upstairs as he was trying to fix that one and took my shower up there. As I got out of the shower and walked across the floor with my damp feet, the tiles from the floor stuck to my feet! We did have to call the first night we were there to ask why we hadn't received new towels and bed service, nobody could really give us a good answer. We also had to go to the front desk to ask for some additional TP as there were only 2 rolls in the place when we got there. After 24 hours in the cars...you catch my drift! We finally found out that the administration failed to mention the the houskeeping staff that anybody was staying in the cabin. After they found out we were there, the service was fine.
The place is quite rustic. It was pretty cheep and we knew not to expect much. The owner needs to put a little TLC into the place and it wouldn't be so bad. If you are looking for a place to sleep for a lot of people...this may be your place.

DO NOT BOOK THIS LODGE!!!! We called about lodging in February for a late July trip for a family of 15 (10 adults, 5 children). Three of us grilled the innkeeper about quality, cleanliness, etc. They rated their lodge a 9 out of 10 for quality and cleanliness. We arrived to find a dilapidated log cabin in the middle of a trailer park!!!! The ceilings were 6 ft, the kitchen was a stove & small fridge - that's it...no cabinets, nothing. The place was filthy! This left a family of 15 out of luck for lodging (Ended up in Idaho at the Pines lodge cabins - saved our vacation - thanks Rick! (pinesislandpark)DO NOT BOOK BIG WESTERN PINES - EVEN IF IT SOUNDS GREAT!!!!!!!
