West Yellowstone B & B

Reviewed 2 August 2011

My wife and I were late arriving as we'd been sightseeing in Yellowstone NP. Never the less, Deborah, our hostess, made us welcome, offered coffee, and took us to our room. The room was really spacious.Pine panelled, with a wide alcove for the bed, comfortable lounge area, high table and stools, micro wave oven, refridgerator; and coffee maker. Whilst the house is just off of a main road, it is very quiet, set amongst trees. Breakfast was ordered the day before and served in the family room with any other guests staying, which was freshly cooked while you had juice, cerals etc. BUT-----although our room was spotlessly clean, in every way, we felt that for the money we paid, which was as much as our other B & Bs. The bedding appeared rather old, and was unmatched, as did the towels. For drinking glasses, there were two full size Kilner jars, without handles, (I've had kilner jars with handles as a novel beer glass, but they are hardly suitable for water to drink or G & Ts) and no crockery or cutlery, tho' these were provided when asked for. Deborah is a lovely lady, quietly spoken, and nothing seemed to faze her. Not even when one of her children was crying and she was cooking breakfast

Room Tip: Ask for the upper floor.

We stayed in the West Yellowstone B&B for one night in June 2011. The hosts Deborah and Scott and their children are really nice people and provided us a great breakfast with fresh pancakes and scrambled eggs. The room was very cosy and made with a lot of wood and handcrafted furniture. Compared to other B&Bs we stayed at during our trip it was a little expensive, but for the West Yellowstone area it is a really good deal.

We stayed here on a family vacation to Yellowstone. Perfect place for us. We were traveling with our 15 year old son and the room was big enough and ery comfortable for us. Breakfast everyday was great. Deborah and Scott were wonderful hosts.

We had a very enjoyable stay with Debbie and her family. Our room was spotlessly clean and spacious. There was a large shower and the moose shower curtain amused me! We can't get those in the UK! Breakfast was delicious, fluffy pancakes, warming oatmeal or eggs as you liked them. We found the property really easily, it is on the long straight road out of West Yellowstone and took just a few minutes to get into town.

Our short stay in Yellowstone was certainly made more memorable due to this lovely find just outside the Park. It was a lovely guest house run by a friendly family and the breakfast were divine - french toast, porridge, eggs, all prepared in delicious ways. The room was amazing, built beneath the living area with a huge space for reading and relaxing, a very large, comfortable bed and a huge bathroom kitted out with everything you needed and wished you had brought. Our hostess was truly charming and had excellent info about where to eat in the local town - there were two great restaurants we tried, both serving excellent food. This B&B was a long drive out of town on a very straight road and little tricky to find in the complete dark, but became easier with practice and was certainly worth the effort!

West Yellowstone B&B is literally in the Inkeeper's home. It is a pleasantly rustic, purpose built home with rental rooms and supports the host's fishing guide business. Deborah runs the B&B and is a most enjoyable hostess! She has a breakfast menu that allows daily selection and the fresh breakfast was a wonderful way to start the day. A gathering area, common room is available next to the family's breakfast area. We had the handicap accessable downstairs room. It was large and decorated in mostly rustic furniture with a fishing theme. The bed was good and linens were OK. The room came with a refer, microwave and coffee pot. The bathroom was large with a walkin shower, good towels and very basic toiletries. The complementary internet had a security problem was was not available. This is a pleasant enough B&B, maybe a 3 1/2 rating, with a couple of reservations. It is indeed in a rural area 4 miles outside of West Yellowstone, so every need beyond the room and breakfast requires a drive. Second the $159 rate for the room may indeed be appropriate for the West Yellowstone area and what is needed to successfully operate the property, but it is, at best, an average value.
