“Yellowstone Park Hotel”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 August 2013

This is the newest Hotel in Yellowstone. It was a little pricey, but we wanted it close to the West entrance to Yellowstone.
Upon arriving the room was ok, had a little fridge, the knob was broken, didn't know what temp it was at. And when I went to dry my hair after a shower (specifically picked a hotel with hair dryer, mini fridge & microwave) the dryer looked burnt and would not turn on..We were tired after riding a motorcycle 7 hours to get there, so I went to bed with wet hair. I asked about the pool rules etc upon check -in-couldn't wait to go swimming and relax for our mini weekend getaway. Well the pool had a layer of scum on top-probably lotions or something from guests, but it looked too yucky- I never went swimming-so was disappointed ( another reason I had picked this hotel-nice indoor pool!) The next day the cleaning crew came and I reported the broken hair dryer, and they replaced it.The bathtub had a big hole in it that was repaired with yellow looking gunk-after going through the park all day and walking around and unable to use the pool ( to my standards) I took a shower and wanted a bath to soak. Not sure the patch job would hold, but it did and even thought the water trickles out I finally had a tub full of hot water.
So enjoyed that! The towels were not soft-but absorbed everything so that was great and you get two bath robes-very absorbent and fun to have when you are away from home.
The beds were very clean and we felt comfortable. They give you an assortment of pillows which was very nice. The TV was newer-flat screen and it worked great.
Over all it was the best spot to stay-we were walking distance to everything in town and real close to the West Yellowstone Entrance. We were close to the Grizzly Bear & Wolf Attraction, but spent so much time in the park we never made it, but we heard it was fantastic-so next time want to go there!!

Room Tip: We wanted a very quiet room and it was. We were on the 3rd floor.

Stayed in the park on last visit but decided to stay at the west entrance this time because of our travel itinery. Glad we did. Lots more things to do in the area and more choices of restaurants. The hotel was nice. Clean rooms good breakfast nice pool was a bit pricey but was similar price to other hotels. I suppose your paying for the area and location. Would recommend to anyone to stay here.

Stayed three consecutive nights in August. Location fantastic; close to the west gate and one can drive either the north or south loop of Yellowstone with ease.

Rooms are spacious enough, beds and linen are clean and comfortable. Abundance of bath linen. Front desk staff efficient and pleasant.

Buffet breakfast adequate. A hint for breakfast; try to be in the breakfast room before 7:00am; shortly after that it gets very busy and crowded, usually a traffic jam around the toaster and pancake machine.

We unfortunately seemed to book at the same time as the national door slammers convention. That is a weak attempt at sarcasm. No fault of the hotel. But on our wing numerous guests were repeatedly and frequently slamming the doors to their units. The solution the hotel provides are complimentary ear plugs. I understand in a way the hotel's reluctance to chastise a paying customer for their inconsiderate and rude behavior.

This hotel has been recently remodeled and it was a very nice place to stay. Breakfast was good and you can't beat the location so close to Yellowstone Park. My only criticism is that the shower head was situated too low for tall members of my family and it's too bad those weren't adjusted during the remodel.

The staff here are very nice, room smells amazing, everything is neat and tidy. My daughter had lost her stuffed animal here and they took the effort to find it. Even though it never turned out they offered that if they found it they would ship it to our address.

Stayed 2 nights here during our visit to Yellowstone. It's really rather good. Clean rooms with fold down sofa bed so very family friendly. Breakfast ok & avoided free evening meal to eat out both nights. It's so close to the park entrance that it's an ideal location to stay. Could not fault it & let's face it you are here for the bears not the rooms. The bear & wolf attraction near the hotel is a must if you want to see a Grizzly bear up close. Having seen one, I never want to see another up close. They are huge!

Room Tip: Try to avoid a room near the ice machine it's very loud

We stayed here for 4 nights in June 2012
The location is great, a very short drive from the Yellowstone Park entrance.
It is just down the road from the Grizzly and Wolf Discovery Centre.
There is a gas station just down the road, and a McDonalds very close.

There is plenty of free parking available at the hotel.

The Hotel itself is a nice modern building, and our room was very nice, very clean with good quality fixtures and fittings.

Reception staff were friendly.

The complimentary breakfast was excellent. The only problem was that the breakfast room was FAR too small, and if you arrived at the wrong time you could not get a seat. The hotel reception area seating also filled up with people eating their breakfast, and still there were people who could not get a seat anywhere! I think the hotel need to sacrifice one of their rooms and knock don a wall or two to make the breakfast room and adequate size for the number of guests!

Having said that, I would definitely stay here again! We had a look around West Yellowstone and some of the other hotels looked a bit shabby, whereas the Yellowstone Park is very smart and clean!
