“Good Hotel, Great Location”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 19 July 2009

This is your average 2-3 star hotel. It is one of the newer hotels in the area, and it offers all the typical amenities. The finishing touches on our room were a tad bit lacking though. Either the construction of the hotel was sloppy, or the repairs are infrequent. Loose tiles in the bathroom, sloppy caulk job on the sink, etc. It was very clean though, which is all that really matters. The location is excellent. It is a short walk to downtown West Yellowstone, and right around the corner from the entrance to Yellowstone Park.

This is pretty much a typical hotel. Nice, up-to-date, clean. Nice indoor pool area. Stayed in a king suite. Very large! One king bed and pull out queen bed in separate room. Had living room area which was also large. Small kitchen area with sink, frig, coffee maker, etc. Very adequate. Bathroom has large sink area. I'd say about 2 1/2 - 3 feet on each side of sink. Bathroom was average size. Not too small. Not huge. Good size. The suite also had a fireplace. Was not impressed with the fireplace. It came on depending on the temperature setting. It acted like a thermostat. Once the room reached the set temperature it cut off automatically. This took all of a few minutes so I couldn't enjoy looking at the fire. Guess that's just the nature of a fireplace in a hotel room. There was also a jacuzzi. Actually it was in separate room. The jacuzzi room was enormous! 2-1/2 jacuzzis could have fit in there. This was completely separate from the bathroom. Continental breakfast had muffins, bagels, good waffles, variety of cereal, bread with toaster, variety of oatmeal, juices, very cold milk (like mine cold), coffee. Did not have any fruit. Kitchen area was very clean. Hotel had one computer for guest use. Better bring your laptop because there was always someone on it. Wi-Fi worked in my room on the second floor even though I was told it only worked on the first floor. They have wire connections in upper two floors. You can wash clothes but there is only one washer and dryer for the entire hotel on the first floor. This hotel is in walking distance to restaurants but is far enough away you may want to drive and park your car closer. This is a very small town so it just depends on how much walking you want to do. Restaurants are several blocks away. A light by the bed was out when we arrived and after reporting it to the desk it was fixed the next day. Staff was friendly. This is the third time we have stayed at this hotel. We have stayed at three or four other hotels in West Yellowstone also. We typically stay about 12 nights.

We stayed here 3 nights while touring Yellowstone Park, and were very happy with the hotel. The place is modern & clean; the staff was friendly and helpful; the continental breakfast was more than adequate (you could make good waffles!); there is an indoor pool (didn't get a chance to use it); and it is just a few minutes from the west entrance to Yellowstone Park; and the price was comparable to the local competition. What's not to like? Tip...if you are an AARP member, ask for a discount and you will get it, but you need to ask!

The staff that I dealt with was exceptional, however that being said, I would not stay here again. The outside of the Hotel looks new but the inside makes you feel like you are in a very cheap, old establishment. I booked this hotel because it was the newest one in town with a decent price but I was very disappointed. Upon arrival we noticed children's bicycles and toys at the entrance, giving the appearance that the staff may live in the hotel with their family. When we registered at the desk their was a young man sitting, I use this term loosely, on one of the sofas with his hat pulled over his face with earphones plugged into his ears, it was obvious he was "hanging" around and knew the desk staff. The staff were very friendly and helpful. When we entered our room I was shocked, the room is big, but it was awful. No bed skirt on the bed, the sheets really didn't fit the bed well. The bathroom had ONE plug in you could use at a time, this was where the coffee maker was, so forget using your hairdryer or curling iron if you were using the coffee maker. The tub bottom looked old and discolored and the fan was loud. I tried to plug my phone in but NO receptical worked in the room. When I booked the room the only beds I had to choose from were queen beds, they were hard and so uncomfortable. The walls were of really cheap white paint which had gouges and black marks on them. We had no travelstand to put our luggage on, I asked at the front desk but they said they did not have anymore. There was a smell in the room that was unpleasant and a humming noise all night long. I really was upset and wanted to find another Hotel to stay in. No sleep the first night. The next morning I asked if they had any king beds available and the young lady said yes and gave my husband and I another room and our friends as well. We moved our belongings into the King rooms, and headed to the Park. When we got back from visiting the park we found out our television was not working, new TV's by the way, and the young man tried very hard to take care of this problem. After spending quite a bit of time trying to get the TV to work, he told us he would move us to another room , which we did. This room was better, no smells, no noise, and a much better nights sleep. The fixtures and amenities have a "garage sale or auction house" quality to them. The continental breakfast was so-so. I believe staff was in the lounge as well. If the staff owns the hotel this might explain why the dress is so casual and there are childrens' bikes and toys outside in front and back. I would not stay here again I would go back to the place we stayed in last year. We stayed in a number of hotels on our 10 day trip and this was the third one we stayed at, it was the worst. Once again, the staff was great, there should be more of a dress code, and the kid hanging around the desk area ...shouldn't.

This hotel was a fair price, quiet, clean, friendly staff (even if they did not have uniforms-someone else's complaint). Beds were comfortable, clean, bathroom was clean and up to date. The breakfast had your standard items to choose from and were more than adequate. Staff was helpful and friendly. Our room blew a fuse and the staff fixed the problem right away and even checked back later to be sure everything stayed working. Close to the entrance of Yellowstone; would stay again.

My son and I stayed here for three nights during our first trip to Yellowstone. The staff was extremely helpful and we were allowed to check in early. The breakfast was wonderful as were the pool and hot tub. Our room was extremely comfortable and for the value we paid, I totally think we got a true bargain. If we are ever out that way again, we will definitely stay there.
