Best Western Desert Inn
Ranked #8 of 39 Hotels in West Yellowstone

We stayed for three nights during our visit to Yellowstone NP. If you could not get a room within the park this is probably the best alternative to get. The hotel is centrally locatet in West Yellowstone (ok, every Hotel is central in West Yellowstone :-) has free Wifi (wich was not very fast but ok) and offers free breakfast. It is a typical tourist hotel and if the place one more table into the breakfast area there would not be space enough to take a deep breath. The staff was very unmotivated but over all it was ok. It really depends on what you expect of a place like West Yellowstone. Do not expect too much and you won't get disappointed.

Room Tip: Highest floor is quieter.

The staff was friendly, the rooms a bit dated and we found some rotten food in a bag hanging behind the fridge. Not a pleasant sight. The pool was not heated but they were trying to fix the problem. Other wise the hotel was ok.

Loved the location. Building smelled when you first walk in. We paid $400 for two nights. When I pay that much I expect a modern room that is spotless. Room smelled (not ad bad ad lobby). It had an old tv but allowed game hook up. The free breakfast was gross so we had toast only.

My family of four had a wonderful seven day stay at The Best Western Desert Inn. Our room was spacious, clean, smelled good, and everything in the room worked. We arrived around noon, check in time was 3pm. We were treated with a friendly welcome, and even though we were early, assigned room 302 on the spot. The elevator was fast, the room had a refrigerator, microwave , remote TV, and two very comfortable queen sized beds. The hotel cleaned and changed linens daily and the towels/wash cloths in the very nice bath were premier quality. Every morning between 6-9 am there was a wonderful full breakfast served in the lobby. They had 3 juice dispenser, 2 milk choices for cereal, omlets, beacon, sausages, scrambled eggs, fruit cups, various flavored yogurt, sweet rolls, fresh fruit, bagels, toast and more. I was so impressed, I asked the desk clerk who was the point person to thank , she said as the hotel general manager, she felt it was important for her guests to start the day with a good breakfast. Her name was Terri Anderson. She was right, because we spent the week hiking all over Yellowstone National Park, which was about 1 1/2 blocks from the west gate of the park. In the eve, we swam in the very nice indoor pool and spa. What a great time. This Best Western was one of three in the town of W Yellowstone. I did not visit any of the other two Best Westerns, but would for sure stay at Terry Andersons, Best Western Desert Inn again.

This is my second time staying at this hotel while visiting Yellowstone. The rooms are nice and clean. I like the complimentary breakfast but the staff is the backbone of this hotel...very friendly and helpful. If I only have one complaint...little pricey, but hey..location, location, location!

This place has comfortable beds and decent breakfast, even though we've stayed in better Best Western lodgings before.

There is an indoor pool and hot tub. The pool is unheated (temp in the mid 70s), and the hot tub is very hot. Before booking a room at this place, make sure that the manager can vouch that the pool heater is fixed.

The breakfast generates too much garbage for the landfill.

This place has no WiFi.
