Family of 4 enjoyed our stay here in July (5 nights) while visiting Yellowstone and surrounding areas. Hotel was clean and comfortable, the rooms were large enough for our family of 4. The kids enjoyed the pool and waterslide (Pool area was small and seemed a little run-down).

My family and I were very happy with this place. After a long day in Yellowstone, we were able to come home and relax in the pool area. The pool and slides were a welcome activity for everyone. The jacuzzi was nice, although a little bit on the cool side for a jacuzzi.

Our room was fine. Nothing great but it also was perfect for what we needed to do, sleep. We had a top-floor room so we did not hear any noise from people walking around. The AC worked great and the bed was decent. If you are looking for a luxary hotel, well then you most likely wont be staying in a hotel in West Yellowstone. If you have a family that is looking to relax after a day in the park, then this place works great.

We stayed here for 3 nights after a disaster with the Moose Inn across the road. We were in the new part which was OK, after reading other reviews I understand why some people did not like it, the older part did not look very nice. We had no complaints room clean and furnishing OK, breakfast was very good, only complaint was thought it a bit petty asking you to pay for drinks and the tax, I did'nt mind paying the tip. It may be a bit pricey for a motel but considering you are in a prime location its probably justified.

Room Tip: Make sure your room is in thr new part

We really lucked-out here. Given a huge room with jacuzzi and king bed.
Room was clean and well maintained. Fridge and microwave.
This entire property is well cared for and it seems as if the staff are happy to be there. Each staff member we encountered was friendly and polite. Reception ladies here were top notch.
Only one problem: the room we occupied had poor lighting. I need to read in the evening before sleep and the lighting provided was in no way conducive to reading. Perhaps that could be improved upon.
It was a really fun stay and we recommend this Days Inn.

Room Tip: Check out the lighting if you're a reader.

I was worried making a reservation here after reading the reviews left by many on this site. After staying here for a weekend with the family in Yellowstone park I can say people on here have standards that are a bit high. You can expect a 5 star out of most everyday chains. This was a good standard 3 star place. Its one of the more moderately prices places in West Yellowstone and near the center of town. The room was clean and fine for the year of the hotel. The pool was clean and my daughter enjoyed it. The breakfest included is a coupon given to the Trappers Resturant attached to the hotel. It is a seat down hot breakfest and was good to start the day. I'm not saying this is the best I've stayed at, but we spent most of the day in the park and not in our room. The only bad part was some of the other travelers staying at the hotel. Some were up early and loud. You have that at any hotel. If you need a good value and a place to stay at night after the park it not bad. Remember this is West Yellowstone, not Sun Valley Resort.

Room Tip: Try for the new section of the hotel. However the old is not that bad.

The walkway outside the lower floor rooms was stifling hot, as none of the windows were open. The cheap window box fan placed at the end of the hallway did little to remedy the situation.

We checked into room 268, the last room at the end of the top floor of the old section of this motel. The room reeked of dog odor, especially in the area next to the door. My wife has asthma and therefore cannot tolerate dogs. Fortunately the window could be opened and after airing out the room for several hours it became more tolerable.

The next night we were assigned to room 220 in the new section. The room was dark with little available lighting and we had to move the lamp around to see. The wall outlet next to the door was so worn that the plug would fall out.

We moved to room 163 back in the old section. We arrived at the room very late and found the room uncomfortably hot. My digital thermometer showed the a/c cycled to 66 F. then an internal circuit breaker made it shut itself down and the temp soared to above 70 degrees.

I called the front desk and the young female clerk was very short with me when I said the room was too warm to be habitable. She was belligerent and insisted the wall thermostat had to be set. There are no wall thermostats that section of the motel! She said there were no more rooms available and we were stuck.

Disgusted with the situation, we started packing to go to another motel. She called on the house phone and rudely said that room 165 (next door) was available. But—the hassle of having to pack and move our belongings in the middle of the night was only amplified by a hostiledesk clerk!

When we finished moving our belongings to 165, I tried to close the door and found it wouldn’t shut. Closer examination found that the upper door hinge was pulling away from the door and I had to lift up on the door in order to close it. The door was about to fall off the frame!

We were quoted $148.49 for a king and then moved to a room with a queen. But despite the cheaper cost of this room, the room charge was not adjusted despite a written request to the owner. The owner never even bothered to respond to my letter.

The only good thing about this motel is the discounted breakfast. But the motel staff are rude and the place is run down and poorly maintained. There are plenty of other nicer places in town to stay at than this dump!

Room Tip: Do not stay in the old section of this hovel.

We visited Yellowstone at the end of June for 6 days and stayed in the newer part of the hotel. The bathroom is small. The sink located outside the bathroom. Our window was difficult to open and close and there was no microfridge in the room. The AC worked fine for us.The pool with the slide was clean and enjoyed by our teenager at the end of each day. We would have prefered a continental type of breakfast because we were a family of 4 eating at different times. The complimentary breakfasts were only for 2 people.

Room Tip: Request a room in the newer part of the hotel.
