“A Wonderful Place”
Reviewed 14 July 2008

The Garden Wall Inn is an absolute delight. Chris and Rhonda are extraordinarily professional, and the service is truly exceptional. They bring fresh coffee to your room every morning on a silver tray complete with a rose and linen napkin. They cook delectable breakfasts. They provide exceedingly knowledgeable advice about places to visit in Glacier. They make dinner reservations for you at fine restaurants.

The level of service is all the more striking in comparison to the great lodges in Glacier. I had read tepid reviews about service in the lodges, and other guests at the Garden Wall Inn reiterated many stories about poor service in the lodges and associated restaurants. Every guest who had stayed at one of the lodges thought they made a large step up in accommodations at the Garden Wall Inn. The fact that rates at the Inn are consistently lower than the lodges make it an incredible value as well.

Stay at the Garden Wall Inn. You will be glad you did.

We stayed in four different hotels/B&Bs while visiting Glacier and this was clearly the nicest of them all - by a long shot (and not the most expensive). It was by far the best value of our trip. It's a beautifully-restored 1920s house with almost all of the original details intact. Our room had a king bed and was extremely comfortable. We loved the bathroom - the high-end bath products, the large bathtub (great for soaking after a long day of hiking!) and the beautiful floor tiles. We had fresh flowers in both the bedroom and bathroom. The bed was one of the most comfortable we have ever slept in and the breakfast was truly delicious - fresh fruit, muffins, huckleberry crepes and bacon right from a local farm. The proprietors were so friendly and helpful. They really went out of their way to make sure that we had a great stay - from offering us afternoon wine/beer and hors d'oeurves to making a reservation at a great sushi restaurant to offering advice on a few differnet itineraries for our next day in Glacier. We could not have been happier with the Garden Wall Inn. I would recommend this place very highly and would even choose to stay here while hiking in western part of the park (I'd stay in St. Mary's Bear Lodge for hikes in the eastern part).

  • Liked — The room, breakfast, the people - everything!

This B&B is the standard by which all others should be judged. We stayed here 5 nights in July and couldn't come up with one negative. All positive. The historic craftsman style building itself is very attractive and kept in fine working order. The rooms spotlessly clean and quiet, and beds extremely comfortable. The breakfasts ample and delectable and presented in such a way as to make you feel like a special guest in your own home. And the service from the staff was without equal. YOU WILL NEVER GET BETTER SERVICE FROM ANYONE ANYWHERE. Chris, the innkeeper, and Rhonda, the owner, are total professionals. And to top it all off, the prices for the area are a great deal. Your stay here will be the highlight of your vacation!

Clean rooms coupled by marvelous breakfasts and an exceedingly friendly and helpful staff capable of advising about restaurants as well as what to do and see in Glacier. Would definitely stay again.

The Garden Wall is indeed a special place.
The service is top notch really it is like ina five *.
Turdown change twice of towels, every need taken care of right away. Chris and Rhonda are great hosts who know how to please their guests. They happen also to be trained chefs which you can witness every morning with an exquisite breakfast.
They are also very knowledgeable about Glacier national park and would give you insights.
Whitefish is also great and if u like sushi try Wasabi one of the best we had only a couple in NY can be deemed better.
We loved our stay at the Garden Wall.
Just one thing the rooms are a litlle tiny and need a little renovating.
But everything else is so perfect that it's easy to forget about it.

If it is service, comfort & attention to detail you want, then look no further.
Your hosts Chris & Rhonda combine to make even a short stay (we stayed for 2 nights) seem like a special experience.
From the welcome drink to the goodnight wishes, from the gentle wake-up call (a tray of hot tea or coffee brought to your room) to the gourmet breakfast, this is an essential stop in any Rockies adventure.
Please dont overlook this little haven for a chain motel, this made all the difference to making our holiday a memorable one.
