Super place to stay at a super mountain! You talk to Katie who works with you to get the reservations you want at Hibernation House and on the slopes. Then, there's Kathy at Hibernation House to warmly welcome you and there is always delicious coffee and hot chocolate 24 hours. The rooms are small, yet perfect for a family of four -- bunk beds for the kids. And, Kathy makes delicious breakfasts, along with setting out cereal, fat free, low-fat, whole, and soy milk, bagels, english muffins, and a selection of breads. You can ski in and ski out or take the shuttle to the lifts. Just a super place to stay!

Lovely, lovely staff. We stayed here for a week and would love to return. We took our little boy and the staff we so good with him. Breakfast was awesome! The free shuttle bus to the base lodge or village was a bonus.

The breakfast is excellent and very homemade. Staff really went out of their way to make sure guests are comfortable. Cozy lobby area with fireplace and big chairs and sofa. Coffee and tea with real mugs 24/7 in lobby. If you want luxury and gourmet food, stay somewhere else, but if you want a clean, friendly, lodge at a reasonable price, this is your place.

We stayed 2 nights at Hibernation House at Whitefish mountain. It is an old-school ski lodge, very comfortable and extremely friendly and accommodating staff. We watched an electrical storm from the hotel porch while visiting with other guests from Florida and Georgia. The morning staff went to extra effort to get our breakfast to go earlier than usual so we could leave for Glacier Park to meet our tour.

Room Tip: All rooms are good.

We stayed here for one night and wished we had time to stay more. We had room 104, which was close to the front desk, so had no issues with WiFi that others are talking about. Kids loved being in bunk beds and we didn't miss having A/C. The supplied fan worked fine. Staff was very friendly and the place was very clean.

The breakfast was really good. There were people coming in from other area hotels to eat (maybe their's didn't supply food). We enjoyed playing cards out in the common area at night, rather than sitting in our room.

Yes, it is a bit away from town, but people should check on a hotels location before booking. It was only a 10 min drive into Whitefish to go to shops/dinner/etc. For us, it was awesome being on the actual mountain. It was close to walk to the gondola, which we took up to the top, then took the Danny On trail down the mountain (6.1 km hike).

Lots of mountain bikers in the area, so this is a must hit spot if that interests you.
