NOT Clean & Broken! Down! Beer and juice bottles and caps under the beds, matteresses rock hard, toilet not anchored down, hair dryer taped with electrical tape. Room smelled mold/musty and dead bolt not working. Dirty carpeting on all staircases.

Room Tip: Stay anywhere but here!!!!

DO NOT STAY HERE!!!! We had business in Whitefish and this was the only available place to stay....now I know why!!!!! Room on 3rd floor, lots and lots of stairs to climb. Deadbolt broken on inside, rugs and mats dirty, stinky filthy rag in kitchen sink, a door to 'no where' that said "Emergency Exit"....never did figure out where it 'exited' to. Ceiling was patched in quite a few places with Styrofoam poster board...inventive I guess. Exposed pipes all over the place. Dirty windows and molding. Bathroom had an UNMARKED step down into the shower. Of the 3 chairs at the table 2 were so wobbly we didn't dare sit in them. In all....this place rates -100 for cleanliness, etc. AVOID IT AT ALL COSTS......SLEEP IN YOUR CAR....THINK IT WOULD BE SAFER.

Room Tip: Avoid the entire place, 3rd floor especially

This hotel is a good location if you want to be able to walk downtown to eat and drink. However, there are much nicer places not far, so you can walk a little further to have a nicer place to stay. It was way over priced at $138. I had not stay there before, and I don't think that I would stay there again unless there was nothing else available.

Room Tip: The Wi-Fi isn't very good, kept disconnecting. If you are traveling with a bunch of guys on tri...

I booked a reservation to have a place to stay in the downtown area. Upon booking I was never told of the 3 day cancellation policy. So I called over 24 hours in advance to cancel since the girls who were going could not afford it. At the time of cancel I was told I would not be charged if they resold the rooms when I mentioned I had not been informed of the cancelation policy I was told the Manager Linda would call me in the morning to discuss it. Instead what I got was a phone call in the morning from a cranky old women Linda telling me not only would I be charged but that room would be resold and she was going to make double on the room..... Wow..... Customer service like this really puts a bad taste in your mouth! As a local I can assure you not everyone from whitefish is like this and it must just be the downtowner! Take my suggestions drive 5 mins or take the free ride guy! It's not worth having a bad experience of a wonderful town!!!

It's right near the center of cute & historic Whitefish, MT. Everything's walking distance.

The staff is super friendly and professional. I watched one clerk keep her cool as she was cruelly berated by a drunk guest who had a mixup with his room. Though when we asked for a rollaway bed we were charged for one but never got it. (They later refunded the charge.)

The place is a little pricey for what you get.

We found the rooms clean and quiet, though sort of dreary and depressing and a little cramped. It was really OK but next time we might try somewhere different.

Room Tip: Get a room away from the main street.

Reading some of the recent reviews here, we can’t believe it’s the same place that we stayed at! Seems worlds apart from what we experienced.

In general, I think disappointments can be avoided by doing proper research before visiting and staying in any place. For those who mentioned the busy roads and being 2-star, well a simple google search would have saved exasperations, sleepless nights and folks not having their expectations met.

Sure, it is more of a motel standard than a modern luxury hotel but for what it is, it's certainly excellent!

We arrived by taxi from Kalispell airport about 2pm. Our room wasn’t quite ready so they kept our bags, offered us coffee, provided us with a map and we wandered around town getting an overview for about 90 minutes before heading back to check-in.

We had Room 21 which is downstairs just next to the office. If you’re travelling with heavy luggage like we were, then ask for the ground floor but these go fast!

The room had two queen beds. Despite being close to the main road once we closed the blinds, together with the A/C, it sufficiently drowned out light and noise from the outside. We were impressed by the sleep quality. It was actually better than the brand hotel that we stayed in the previous night! There were generous bath amenities, crisp clean towels, even a leather-bound guest book that a lot of thought went into putting together.

We loved the location! If you want to be in the heart of the action and just passing through or staying for a couple days then there's no reason to stay outside of town. Save your taxi fare as everything you need to see is right in the heart of town.

We were only staying one night in order to catch the 7:45am Amtrak to Essex so we wanted something close and convenient. And certainly this was!

Right next door to Downtowner Inn, there's a plaza with a farmer’s market selling fresh fruits and produce, as well as a fantastic bookstore that’s one of the best we’ve ever seen!
And, just steps along the roadside there's a small diner which serves breakfast and simple fare.

Honestly, everything is so easily reached from Downtowner Inn that you'll never need to hop into a taxi during your stay! If however, you’re seeking purely rest, quiet and being in the wilderness away from the happenings, then this place is not for you.

We were at most only 4 blocks from the train station and no more than a 5 to 8 minute leisurely stroll to the shops, bars & restaurants on Central Avenue. You could not ask for a more ideal location to stay!

Room Tip: If you're traveling with several or heavy cases, ask for a ground floor room!

Located in downtown Whitefish,MT. But at a busy traffic intersection and the noise is noticeable.Property needs a vast overhaul.Property is not clean. Beer bottles everywhere, broken beer bottles in the small parking lot.No microwave, no frig, small screen television with poor cable package.Interior décor is old. Uncomfptable bed mattress and pillows.Cheap, small bars of soap from China.Walls are paper thin.Breakfast consists of hot water, coffee, and mini bagels. Over priced for the value being offered.

Room Tip: Do not request rooms 40,41 and 42 in the service alley.
