We were somewhat concerned about staying here because of the mixed reviews, but would definitely stay here again. We stayed for four nights in mid February 2012. While the hotel was not brand new, it was immaculate. In fact, it was one of the cleanest hotels we've ever stayed at regardless of price/class.

We stayed in one of the over-sized King rooms that had a fireplace, wet bar, mini fridge and microwave. There was also a garden tub in the bathroom. As stated above, some of the decor may have been a little dated, but it was extremely clean. The bed was fine, but not as comfortable as some of the nicer hotel beds we've slept on.

The free breakfast was a little better than average for a mid level hotel with a nice variety of items. The room used for the breakfast was huge and finding a place to sit was unusually easy for a hotel. We normally like to take a few breakfast items back to the room with us, but there were signs forbidding this practice. While we were disappointed in this rule, it was probably in place to help keep the hotel clean.

All the employees we encountered were very friendly and helpful. We arrived on Amtrak and took advantage of the free shuttle pick up from the station. This was a nice touch for a hotel in a small town.

There were a couple negative points, though we did not complain about them and they would not keep us from returning. First, the elevator was broken for our entire stay. Normally this would not be a problem, but we were on the 3rd floor and traveling with a 3 month old baby (with several extra baby items). So, the stairs became tiring at times. Second, there was a large group of mainly 20 somethings that were at the hotel for our entire stay. They used the hot tub/pool from roughly 5-10 pm nightly. The group was frequently quite loud, using profanity, and drinking excessively (shotgunning beers, etc). The pool area (which our room overlooked) was littered with beer cans while they were in the pool. We would have likely used the hot tub, but avoided it due to the presence of this group (I'm sure we were not alone in this decision).

Booked this online for $80/night (double room). Stayed two nights in February 2012. NIce hotel for cost. No restaurant, but breakfast is excellent (waffles, juice, coffee, lots of muffins/bagals etc). Lots of tables to sit at. Huge hot tub outside, along with a heated pool (both outdoor). Common areas of hotel is very nice, with sofas and fireplace. Ski lodge feel. Room was basic, but nice and clean. No bathtub, just shower. It was quiet at night. Staff were good.helpful. Hotel is about 20 minute drive from mountains. A shuttle service runs frequently to/from ski hill, although we just drove. Perfect for a comfortable stay for a short term ski holiday to Whitefish.

Room Tip: Our room had a door joining it to the next room. This would be great for families.

We spent 2 nights at this hotel late January and we were happy with the room. Hotel is a bit dated and rooms have single pane glass which keeps the room on the cool side. The one downpoint in that regard was that the bedding was too thin for the winter months. Keeping the heater on dried out the air too much. Breakfast is basic. Coffee at the small coffee shack next door was outstanding and cheap ... Forget Starbucks.

The BW Rocky Mtn Lodge is just South of "downtown" Whitefish. It's perfectly located for adventures into Glacier Natl Park and the Flathead Valley. Their rooms are very clean, a bit larger than expected, and quiet. Amenities are nice for the price point, and the breakfast, while what I would refer to as "typical," is well done - fresh, hot waffles, cereal, pastries, really GOOD coffee, etc. They seem to handle families, skiers, and business travelers well (although their business center is quite minimal), and the staff speak American English (!) and is glad to see and accommodate you. Certainly worth a visit.

Room Tip: Did not see the "annex" others speak of...it was closed for the off-season. The hotel is a...

This is a good clean hotel, and the staff is very friendly. The price was good, and the location was great. You can walk to several resturants and grocery stores. The pool is nice for a evening soak. We stayed here because we were flying out the next day. It was very close to the Kalispel airport, it took only about 10 min to the airport. Also a tip is the cost to park at the airport is less than $50 for the week.

Enjoyed my stay here while skiing Big Mountain-- the continental breakfast was a little light, but did the job. The rooms were clean, had a nice hot tub and a helpful staff. Located just on the south side of town, but not a bad drive up to the ski area. There's even a ski bus that comes right by the hotel, and you can buy lift tickets at the front desk too. Overall, a great hotel.
