“Long weekend - perfect”
Reviewed 10 November 2013 via mobile

A minute away from the main road but no traffic can be heard, a perfect location.

Great accommodation and a friendly welcome. Lots of nice touches to enhance the experience.

Great value for money - highly recommended. We will definitely be back.

thank you to Jason and all the staff at Judds, we had our wedding here and it couldn't have gone better, the day way perfect, the service was spot on and very welcoming, we recommend this as a wedding venue to anyone as the value is brilliant and you would be hard pushed to find some where with not only quality food and drink but also quality of service. our room was lovely and we would recommend anyone to stay here. we look forward to returning for lunch some time soon :) keep up the good work guys, its definitely worth it and we appreciated you all for making our day run as smoothly as it did.

This hotel is no folly!

I booked a room the day before, while travelling in France, and had no great expectations. When we arrived in the pouring rain, after an 8 hour drive and a ferry crossing, the lady on reception was lovely, helpful and quick to check us in.

We had booked two double, interconnecting rooms, and they are great. Have doors to the outside and could park my car outside my room. The rooms are large, well designed and furnished. After the bed in the gite...this was luxury!

The evening meal in the restaurant was another happy surprise. The lamb was very tasty and finished the meal with a peach Eton Mess which was a small portion of yummy.

Breakfast was huge...served to order (full engish), lots of choices. I'd never eat that much at home but really good, so couldn't resist.

Thank you to all the staff, very friendly and helpful. I was impressed that as we checked out we let the reception know that a bulb had gone in one room during our stay, and a gentleman went straight out and replaced it before I'd driven away!

I recommend this hotel and will stay again if ever in the area.

Hope your folly goes from strength to strength :)

As already echoed by other reviewers, this is a diamond in the rough.
We arrived for a wedding, and will admit the outer first appearance was not inspiring. But the was quickly washed away by the smiles and genuine friendliness of the staff. During the pre wedding, we made slight alterations to the menu. This was accomplished without hesitation. The food was outstanding, and the rooms were great.
I would have no hesitation I recommending the Judd hotel, to anyone who is looking for good value

My husband and I booked a last minute room at Judd's Folly as we were attending a wedding reception nearby and preferred to stay rather than drive home. We were pleasantly surprised at the standard of our room at he front of the building (room #3) which had a huge comfy bed, plenty of wardrobe space and hangers and heating!!!! The staff were very helpful and friendly and there was a huge selection of breakfast options. Tea, coffee, water and hot chocolate was supplied in the rooms; small touches that were much appreciated.
We would definitely return; good value for money.

Room Tip: Beautiful views first thing in the morning in rooms 1,2 and 3 at the front of the building.

Having visited last year we returned to see our friends in Faversham. Small problem when I booked direct over the phone I was given a price of £70 a night for a double room. I said it's £62.50 on-line and then was told they could do it at the same price? Was greeted on arrival with a cheery hallo, last time we found all the staff exceptionally friendly, no chnage there then. We had been stuck in traffic on the M25 and it was now gone 2pm and we hadn't eaten ,we asked for a sandwich and the wife had coffee and i had a pint of Spitfire this was no problem. We were offered baguettes and the wife had cheese and tomato I had beef. When they came we wished we had just ordered one as they were so large. The beer was not that clever having been in the trade for many years and being a Master Cellerman it was just past its best and it seemed to me they don't have the throughput to maintain it properly. We had a superior bedroom in the chalet complex. It was quite a large room with all the necessary fixtures including tea, coffee making facilities, only thing missing was the bath but we didn't mind as we only shower anyway. The room was exceptionally clean and plenty of cupbaord and drawer space which the wife needs as for the four days she will pack a wardrobe!
After a comfortable night as it was very quiet and as we live in the middle of the countryside we are used to no noises at night. Breakfast! i had the full Monty and I mean the full Monty. I started with fruit juice of which there was a choice of 4, cereals followed and dried fruit and nuts. Egg, bacon, sausage, hash brown, mushroom, tomato and black pudding followed then washed down with coffee then taost and Marmite for meand a banana to finish. The wife had a cup of coffee and toast and jam! Who needs lunch - the wife! The next day I settled for the smoked salmon and scrambled egg. When we checked out i saw I had been charged an extra £3.50 for this The menu is somewhat ambiguous about this. A very pleasnt stay will come back.

We arrived early just to get our bearings and the overall outlook did not look anything special.
When we booked in we could not fault staff and welcome and our courtyard room was spotless.
I have to say once you arrive at Judds F. and get the feel of the place it is very different and a real gem.
We would definitely come back again. A big thank you to Jason and his staff for making our stay very enjoyable.

Maggie & Noel

Room Tip: We upgraded to a courtyard room which we did not regret
