“Very Welcoming”
Reviewed 31 December 2013

We spent a night there with our special needs granddaughter and had requested a bath rather than a shower. Not only did we get a bath...we found a family of plastic ducks waiting for us....that made our granddaughters day!! The room was enormous and well furnished, very warm and inviting. The staff were very welcoming and friendly and we will definitely stay there again when we visit friends.

Room Tip: We had a lovely room at the back of the hotel. You could reach it through reception or through the c...

I chose this hotel from the Internet for a sad occasion, my uncle's wake, and the staff, service, location and general attention to detail couldn't have been better. We stayed in the 'motel' rooms which, as the hotel website itself says, are spotlessly clean and as another reviewer remarks 'are cosy, bright...and warmer than expected'. We ate in the restaurant and had a private buffet, all the food was excellent and the whole experience left me thinking that one day I will go back for a happier occasion. Thank you to Jason and his tea.

We spent two nights at the hotel early in December while visiting my partner's family in Faversham. The hotel was perfect for our stay. Our room - one of the 'motel' rooms just along from the main entrance - was lovely; cozy, bright, clean and warmer than I might have expected, given that we were on the end of the block. The shower room was spotless. We slept incredibly well and, once we opened the lovely thick curtains in the morning, we were treated to spectacular winter sunrises over the surrounding misty fields and parkland. It was so much better than the characterless identikit hotel on the A2 where we've stayed before - and an awful lot quieter too! We didn't try the bar or restaurant on this visit, but the breakfasts were delicious, with a wide choice of cereals, breads, fruit, juices and yoghurts, plus a generous freshly-cooked full English, which more than kept us going until lunch. Thanks to Jason and all the staff for a great stay. I'm sure we'll be back!

Arrived a bit too late to eat there but good impression of staff. Rooms warm and cosy (if you see my other reviews you will know warmth is really important to me in a hotel.. ) Only fault really was the TV switching itself on at 7am but I was awake anyway.. (no, I hadn't set it myself by mistake!). We like early breakfasts, which they start at 8 on a Saturday, but told us staff would be around earlier than that.. and yes, a lady welcomed us at least half an hour earlier with hot coffee/toast etc so happy happy. Reminded me of Irish hotels where breakfasts supposedly finished at 10 yet people wandered in at 11.30 and were happily served 'Full Irish' while lunches were being prepared. Will stay at Judd's again and hopefully able to comment on dinner next time!

We spent a weekend in the Judd's Folly Hotel in November 2013. Despite the very welcoming and friendly staff our stay wasn't too pleasant.
The room was cold and the bathroom was a "freezer" with only a small heated towel rack.
When we asked a second radiator, they could only offer more blankets.
The bed skirt was dusty at the headboard, the window frames were mouldy in the room, and we found a small red ball on the floor (when was the room cleaned before?). On top of all on Sunday morning I found a hair in my breakfast.

I hope they will improve the cleaning standards and they will solve the cold issues during the winter. My kids and I caught a cold during the weekend.

Dear Guest
Thank you for your review, I am sorry that your stay was not as expected. I am however surprised that you did not mention about the heating earlier as you were in for the whole weekend. I gather you did ask for an extra heater that could not be found and had replacement blankets, this was after midnight. This room has a 3kw heater and which we have never had a problem with for heating, the bathroom is large and has a window in it, which we will look at the heating situation of that one. Due to us being in a conservation area we have been awaiting permission to replace the windows in that part of the building and I apologise if there was mould on them due to the condensation inside.
With regards to breakfast - Did you tell anyone. We would have rectified this immediately.
Again I apologise that your stay was not as expected and I have made my housekeepers aware of cleaning behind beds. The bedrooms are cleaned daily and I you should not have found anything in there from the previous guest.
Many thanks - Jason Wolverson

I stayed here 2 days ago. Very welcoming on arrival. My room was perfect for me. Warm and cosy and very clean. Had dinner in the bar, excellent food and good value and portion size.

I really did relax when back in the room and had a great night sleep.

Breakfast was pretty good with plenty of choice.

Would really recommend this place

Initially we were hesitant at choosing Judds Folly for our Wedding Reception only because of how we use to remember this hotel, however, Jason is slowly turning this family run business around and making it into a comfortable well appointed venue. Our wedding co-ordinator, Fiona, chose perfect chair sashes and table decorations to match my bouquet, and the Churchill Room had been transformed into a warm and inviting venue, much better than I had anticipated. In fact it took my breath away.

The nibbles on arrival were delicious, especially the apricots wrapped in bacon (or so I'm told) Unfortunately I never got to see those as our guests liked them so much that we didnt get a look in, (but that is not Judd's fault, they were just too good).... The meal was excellent and the smoked salmon was very moreish....as was the chocolate pud for desert.....and lots to eat and choose from for breakfast in the morning.

Jason was very helpful and quickly catered for two last minute guests very efficiently, thank you. Jason also catered for my dad who wasn't well and rustled up scrambled egg and Fiona was on hand to usher guests in and out of rooms when needed.

One of our guests from Sweden said her room was like a little palace and it had been one of the best nights sleep she'd had in months....Our room was lovely with a large bathroom at the foot of the bed and my parents said their room was lovely, warm and comfortable....

Jason and Fiona, we had a beautiful afternoon/evening and we will remember it forever......
