Visited for a murder mystery night, with afternoon tea, dinner bed and breakfast. Very welcoming at reception, room quite small but very clean.afternoon tea was excellent, staff very attentive, had as much tea as we wanted. Murder mystery event was very good and kept me guessing all night dinner was very good. Slept well no noise at all which was nice. bed was comfortable and shower was also good if a little cramped ,but I am a big boy!Breakfast was superb couldn't be better. Host was very enthusiastic .all in all a very good experience.

9 friends spent two nights at this excellent hotel. Reasonably priced with comfortable rooms, an excellent breakfast and enjoyable dinner.
A special mention should go to the staff, helpful and cheerful, they all made us feel very welcome.

A warm friendly greeting and quickly checked in,we were in one of the Bungalows in the lovely grounds, parking outside and nice and quiet.
Pleasantly surprised by the room which was more of a mini suite with seperate living room,a cosy bedroom with a very comfortable bed and a good sized shower room with an excellent shower.Fridge and 2 TVs,all good so far.
Breakfast on Sunday, very warmly greeted by a gentleman I assumed to be the Manager, the service and quality of the food was faultless setting very high standards.
Breakfast Mondsy, warm greeting and downhill from there,no hot buffet today so order taken.
My wife's breakfast, poached eggs, hash browns tomato was fine as the eggs had to be cooked to order.
The components of my full English had obviously been sat basking under heat lamps for ages,it looked great but, scrambled eggs like rubber, dried out black pudding, bacon so hard I struggled to cut it,the sausage was OK and you can't really mess up beans but,a sad shadow of the quality the previous day had set.The plates were not cleared, no one enquired if everything was ok.
Such a shame,I think it was a case of "when the cats away" the guests are the priority not having a quick smoke outside or a chat in reception.
Overall a lovely place, some exemplary staff,a 5 star score sadly reduced to 3 because of a very poor Breakfast experience!

There for a ladies' retreat weekend. Staff could not have been kinder or looked after us better. They were very friendly and provided everything we needed. The food was excellent and there was loads of it - fantastic. A great find and we've already booked for next year!

Me and my wife renewed our wedding vows here on 5th October. All the staff were brilliant but a special mention must go to Carlie (the wedding co-ordinator) who made sure the day was perfect. Nothing was too much trouble and the communication was good at all times.
The ceremony took place in the Yew Tree Cottage and was decorated beautifully, as was the function room where we had the 3 course sit down meal.
The meal was also delicious and served promptly.
I would definitely recommend this hotel as a great wedding venue or place to renew your vows.
