“Fantastic pub - great food and unbeatable location”
Reviewed 14 April 2014

Really enjoyed our visit here - we were lucky to get a table as you normally have to book. The food was really good - great kids portions as well. Reasonably priced for good quality. We loved sitting on the beach with a drink of an evening where our kids could play happily. Really fab pub.

“Brilliant”
Reviewed 7 April 2014 via mobile

Stayed at Kingsdown for two weeks and found this place two nights before our departure... Gutted. Would have eaten there more than once, that's for sure. It is one of the best places I have eaten in, in the UK and the value for money was excellent. The nicest food we had and cheaper than the local Wetherspoons in Deal. Go, you won't be disappointed.

“Valentines Night”

Fantastic Venue, very romantic over looking the beach and only a stones throw away from Walmer and Deal, the food and company was amazing. A must, but remember to book.

“Great pub, great location”
Reviewed 30 March 2014

Walked here with the dog on a warm Spring afternoon. Great location on the beach. Just stopped for a pint and a glass of cider so unable to judge the food. The interior looks right, the exterior looks right, the staff friendly and helpful. Small but with plenty of space inside and out.

We'll revisit to eat. Finding pubs like this is a joy. Shows it can be done and when visited by our European neighbours a few miles away across the sea will exemplify a great English pub.

“A restaurant rather than a pub, and a good one at that”
Reviewed 19 March 2014

We used to visit the Zetland Arms a fair bit some years back. We'd been told that the management had changed and the food was much improved so we walked there from Walmer one weekday for lunch. To our surprise we had trouble finding a table as most were booked. But the staff were friendly and the food was both very good and good value eg eight king prawns for £10. The chips and pan-fried vegetables were excellent. The chicken pie decent if a bit lacking in flavour. The menu also had a range of reasonably priced sandwiches. But this is clearly now a restaurant rather than a pub. There was no area set aside for drinkers (which is a pity). And by all accounts it gets ridiculously busy at weekends and school holidays when the weather is good. We'll certainly be back but out of season and having booked in advance.
