“expensive green fee for average golf course”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 July 2013

It was a very difficult course because it has lots of hills to it, if you hita good ball it just rolls down the fairway and gets lost in the rough.
The golf course was moderately kept, and some greens were in bad condition.
It was 45 pounds for a weekend green fee, even their own members were shocked we payed that much!

“Hidden Gem!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 12 April 2013

This course tends to get overlooked compared to it's famous links neighbours at Sandwich and Deal. This however is not a links but is in fact a clifftop seaside course built on fast draining chalk, invaribly windy and great views over the channel. The rough is not overly punitive, but with the other problems mainly the wind it dosen't need to be. I didn't use the clubhouse on this occasion, but the staff in the pro shop were friendly...and a nice addition since the last time I was here several years ago a (nearly) halfway house after the 10th hole, a hut with a nice lady serving teas, coffees, hot chocolate and sausage and bacon rolls etc...most welcome!

“Great views of France”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 19 September 2012

This course is a great place to play whatever the weather, although usually it is windy. As it is on chalk it drains very quickly and is used all year round

Small but friendly pro shop with 2 good pros, reasonable price and friendly members

This time of year greens are being cored and sanded so they are not as fast as usual but still very playable.Usually windy close to cliff edge first 2 holes then sheltered till 8th and 9th.halfway hut open mon/wed/fri/sat/sun,£1 for hot drinks and hot food available.

Back 9 very sheltered and enjoyable, but 14 par 3 hard hole and 17th green is hard as it slopes.I found this a most enjoyable course to play and friendly members.

Sensible dress code,no denim, collared shirts and decent shorts/trousers.

very good club house and good food and drinks, carvery once a month evenings.A good social scene.
