What a gem. The cottage was spotless and perfectly equipped - thanks to Jo for a delicious cake left for us and a pint of milk in the fridge. Wonderful crispy new-feeling linen on beds and sumptuous towels waiting. We loved the wood burner in the evenings (logs available in a little outhouse we were told about) the children adored the animal feeding and endless swims in the fab pool (we felt as though we had a private pool) Wonderful Jo (who I had heard was a runner) took me out on a 4.5 mile run through stunning local parkland and estates, chatting all the way and was an excellent host. The facilities are superb, there are a few notices telling you how things work but if you read the 'bad' review and it in any way changes your mind about staying here, you are REALLY missing out. We had a perfectly relaxing stay and felt at all times that we were special guests who the owners really cared about. I recommend it whole-heartedly.

Room Tip: Swallows Rest has own little garden but it's not even needed, you can wander all around.

We've just returned from a lovely week on Bucks Farm. Our children enjoyed the animal feeding, the pool, the play room and the space. We all had a super time. We were made to feel very welcome. The facilities were first class. There were, as others have mentioned, quite a few notices in the cottage but that didn't affect our enjoyment of the holiday. The owners, Jo and Ian, were very welcoming and friendly. We certainly intend to return.

Just back from a week's holiday at Bucks Farm. Had a fantastic time - a brilliant place to take young children. There's a well-stocked playroom, a swimming pool, some outdoor play equipment (including trampoline) and friendly animals to feed in the mornings. We didn't know the area at all and the info supplied from owners Jo and Ian was very helpful. They were great hosts, from the free cake on arrival to the top tips of places to see and things to do. Highly recommended.

Firstly the cottage we stayed in was clean, and well maintained. We found the owners to be pleasant and helpful. Dogs are welcome in some of the cottages and there are good walks to be had on the farm itself. The animals (pony, sheep, goats, chickens, ducks) are likely to keep children entertained and the pool and fitness suite are excellent. Nice area, 10 miles from Southwold, well equipped and clean. I would recommend this as a good place to stay for anyone looking for a rural retreat that would suit all age groups. Not exactly cheap, but you do get what you pay for.

We popped in for the weekend, staying with extended family. The area is lovely and the cottages very well kept, especially since the new additions. The pool area is immaculate and the gym on a par with a health club. Everything you need is on the door step.
In response to the other comments about notices everywhere and being 'big brothered', the notices are there for a reason, it's useful to know bits and bobs around the place. Once you've read them you don't have to look at them again.
If you treat the cottages and farm area with respect there would be no need for any one to make any comments about you, your party or any rubbish you leave around.
A great holiday/break, highly recommended.
