“Has all the usuals--nicely redone, still a bit "tired"”
Reviewed 3 April 2012

I was there for a convention and found the front staff a bit "green", but after a bit realized that we were priority club and it got a bit better. The rooms are nice, but not large. Quiet rooms despite lots of traffic. The parking garage is a bit tight and the entrance is confusing.

Room Tip: Look out for the uneven cement going to the elevators from the parking garage, as I fell there.

This is a solid business traveler-oriented hotel. The room was clean and tidy. Location is superb with easy access to quality restaurants and bars. Service at the hotel is super-friendly and impeccable in general. Free airport shuttle is a major plus. Now on to the negatives... There are railway tracks in the vicinity, which you don't know at first, but they'll remind you of their presence in the dead of the night. I have no idea why the train drivers like to honk when passing through Lincoln. But they do. A lot. The swimming pool is well, there, and there is not much else I can say about it. It's very spartan and there is no jacuzzi as far as I know. I had a decent swim but it's not inviting enough to keep you there for that much longer. The WiFi connection was spotty - while there were few drop outs, access to some major sites was hindered. I couldn't access some articles on CNN. I understand that is probably a probably with their provider upstream, but ultimately it didn't work very well and was slow (typical for many hotels to be honest). All in all I recommend this place... But caveat emptor.

Thank you for taking the time to fill out a survey. Not only was it nice to hear the positive things you had to say about our facility but it also lets us know your honest concerns. You will be happy to know that starting in April the hotel is upgrading and expanding our internet solutions for our guests. In the near future you should receive better coverage and speed when you connect to the internet from our hotel. We are also working on new ideas for the pool area. It is a nice area but we also feel that we can do more. Look for some changes there as well! Thank you again and we will look forward to seeing you on your next visit to Lincoln.

We stopped here for martinis. The atmosphere was calm, inviting and quiet and the bartender, Barb, made the best martinis ever! It's located in the midst of historic Haymarket. A great place.

Hotel had 3 elevators but only 1 working, had to walk down 6 floors when checking out with all of our luggage and granddaughter with fractured ankle in a boot. Parking also very bad. Had to circle entire ramp twice before finding space, very narrow driveways, large vehicles not even able to negotiate ramps. Staff was clueless about everything. No free breakfast, beds were too small and you rolled toward the middle. Very dated for the price.

Room Tip: Don't stay here.

Our room was nice, clean, new, the bed was comfortable. Staff was friendly and helpful. The location is perfect for downtown activities, and near to UNL campus. For the money however, I would choose Embassy Suites-much better breakfast, rooms equal in quality but of course at Embassy you get a suite for the price of a King room at Holiday Inn. Would stay there again if the Embassy is unavailable.

I liked it here a lot. You are steps from many, many eclectic restaurants. The property is a little worn, but it is clean. There is ajoining parking. The internet is a tad slow. The cast and crew of Mamma Mia was staying here.. The Red Onion lounge was kind of a happening place... quite busy. You basically are walking distance to everything cool in downtown Lincoln and downtown Lincoln is really a neat place. Yes the hotel is a little dated... but I really liked it and would stay here again.

The resturant hosted by Holly was excellent. The bar with Barbera was also excellent. Enjoyed our stay and would recommend...

Room Tip: Free drinks every nite during the week foe 1-1/2 hours
