Stayed at this HoJO while my partner and I were in town for a concert. Not overly impressed with the place, however the overall stay was not bad at all.
Aside from a few annoyances, the rooms worked for what we needed it for - a place to crash after the concert. The shower was very spacious and had a nozzle that allowed you to lock in the water temperature but adjust the water pressure; a feature I wish all hotels had. Cleanliness was not an issue- fresh towels, vacuumed floor, clean bathroom, etc. We went elsewhere for breakfast, however I was happy to hear they had a hot/cold breakfast option for people in the morning. Walking back in and seeing a waffle station in the breakfast area was pretty awesome. And I really liked the fact that there was am microwave and mini fridge in the room - both definitely came in handy.
As for the annoyances I mentioned earlier.... one of the lights above the closet / vanity area was out. No desk lamp. The comforter was burned in one area- not sure if it was from a cigarette or the dryer. The walls had a little bit of water damage, though did not notice until we were packing. The furnishings were a bit 80s/90s - it was obvious a few updates needed to be made to the room.
It was a decent drive to the downtown area. It took 5-10 minutes to get to the places we needed to go. Parking was free, so we did not have to worry about that additional charge. The surrounding area was very quiet as well. Quick access to the interstate.
We had a new person check us in, so I'm not going to judge to harshly on the 'service' portion. Though he definitely knew when to ask for help and the other gal at the desk helped him get us checked in quickly, as well as provide some information he left out. Good teamwork. They at least had our folio ready for us at check out and gave us a friendly farewell. The housekeepers smiled and greeted at us when we walked through the hallways- that definitely made me feel welcomed.
Overall, our stay was not bad. Would I come back? Sure, why not. The price was right, which helped make for an affordable trip. If your plans are centered around the Lincoln nightlife or you're looking for a luxurious stay, I'd check out the hotels downtown. But if you don't plan on spending a lot of time in the room and are just looking for an affordable place to sleep while you enjoy activities elsewhere, this hotel could work for you. Would recommend this hotel for sports teams and business professionals who travel frequently on their own dime. Quiet, affordable and has all of the essentials needed for a short stay.
