“Badly organised - spent most of the time queuing”

La Foret des Ecureuils
Reviewed 9 August 2013

In hindsight we arrived at the worst time of day (15:30) and probably the busiest day of the week (Friday). I imagine that the first visitors of the day had a much more profitable visit.
We spent two and a half hours and most of that was waiting for the group in front, who were in turn, waiting for the group in front etc etc. The place was effectively gridlocked ....
There was no organisation/control of bottlenecks - a most frustrating experience. The bits of climbing we did do were enjoyable, but brief.
If you do go, go early. Otherwise, don't do what we did - it was a complete waste of time and money.

Thank Clairett

Dear Sir,

We are sorry for the time queing, but before you enter in the parc we've told you that there will a lot of people and you'll have to wait.
Also like all the major site in Périgord coming at 15:30 is a very bad idea. We advise in all our brochures to come in the morning cause first there will be less people and second the air will be cooller.
Thank you.

Took the grandchildren - what an excellent venue. Health & Safety high on the agenda, kids absolutely loved the freedom, after an excellent and dutiful "safety induction" - can't fault the place......kids loved it and we could relax in knowing they were having fun in a safe environment.

by spending a few hours pretending you are Indiana Jones or Tarzan in this tree-top assault course close to Sarlat le-Caneda. Rope ladders, tight-ropes, swings, each different course (from yellow all the way to black, like the ski-runs) tests your balance and agility and head for heights.
I have to say my children did so much better than I did, but we had a great laugh and all learned something about one another's capabilities, a real bonding exercise which you just don't get sitting around the pool.
I was nervous about the safety aspects, but they have excellent English speakers who will take families individually to explain and demonstrate the procedures.
If you are of a nervous disposition I recommend coming as early as possible when the courses are less crowded, so you can take your time and not feel pressurized. It really is good fun (once you are back on the ground....)
The only downside is the bathroom facilities aren't great, there were no towels or soap in them when we visited,

We always come here in our summer holidays....and from the age of 3 years every year to now, my 10 year old son has enjoyed every minute......we bring a picnic and make a day of it...... You are given good instruction and then go ahead at your own pace. August can be very busy..but out of the Summer season you can more or less have the place to yourselves...

Two adults, 3 kids - 11,7,5 - we all had a great time. The five year old found his course a bit tame - he wanted to be up in the big trees with the others, but was not permitted. Other than that, it was great fun, and we all had a go. Be prepared for the kids to be scared at first, then realise that its actually rpretty easy and want to do the more challenging courses !!!

Good safety info, not too busy, somewhere to grab a cold drink, and lots of fun. €55 for a family of 5.
