They built a town just a few miles away from Las Vegas in the Red Rock Canyon area. It has old Western buildings, a petting zoo, a saloon, an opry house with plays, a hokey wax museum and the best thing - the hanging. They have a shootout, the sheriff captures the bad guy, from the crowd is picked a judge, prosecutor, and the crowd becomes the jury. Convicted, the bad guy hangs. Bad jokes but a lotta fun. Bring your sunscreen - it's all out in the open.

All started very well, "Buck was a delight, friendly, helpful, knowledgeable. Upon arrival there was a very long wait before we ate breakfast which was not as advertised, it was supposed to be outside, conjuring thoughts of cowboys sat around a fire, instead it was in a restaurant/bar, the meal fell short of the advert as well, no toast or hash browns etc. Then 5 I repeat 5 disclaimers later and another long wait we were finally taken to the horses which all looked VERY well cared for and well fed, this began a long process of selecting and mounting the horses, this ought to be quicker. Finally all aboard, we were led of into the desert which I must add was breathtaking, the young lady that accompanied us was lovely, very chatty and friendly. I didn't time it but before you knew it we were back at the ranch! It was forbidden to trot or canter so feeling rather short changed we dismounted to be told that we had free access to the petting zoo and Wild West area, looking around the Wild West area it was evident that there was a certain air of neglect and before we were able to sample the zoo we were called to our minibus for the homeward journey. To sum up, ok for a couple of hours if you know what to expect but not worth a whole morning of your holiday.

It was the first time riding a horse ride for our son. He loved it. Robbie, the cowboy, made it very memorable. Nice escape from Vegas.

The Wild West old Nevada was in serious decay and frankly the show wasn't much for adults but probably fun for 3-6 year olds.
The museum had a lot of junk in it as well as very few interesting exhibits. The restaurant was OK but wasn't Wild West food as advertised. Mor a burger joint.
The petting zoo had some appeal for kids but it was horrible to see wild animals in such cramped accommodation. There were peacocks everywhere which was cool. The stables looked pretty professional.

This would be great for small children ~ cost per adult is $10 pp. This place has a small train, petting zoo, horse back riding, ghost hunting and shows. They also have a saloon and restaurant and hotel on the premises. The area is very beautiful.
