While I've never ridded the ghost train, I've ridden on the Nevada Northern Railway. Unlike some scenic railways which are essentially amusement rides, the NNRR is a complete railway, with several engines, a variety of rolling stock, a depot, a yard, a steam crane, and more. One of the staff--I believe his name was Bob--gave a guided tour of the engine shop after the train ride which was fascinating--the gentleman was literally a walking encyclopedia about the mechanical side of steam locomotives. For anyone interested in the details of railway operations a century ago, I would recommend the NNRR without reservation.
