Saw good reviews. Looking for a good place to ride dirt and mine trails. Thought we would check it out. Great room. Great old, sad, historic, cool, quiet spot.
Walked around Goldfield for hours. Great room, Quiet enough that you can't even hear the highway.

Room Tip: No fridge. Spotty internet. Call early. Believe it or not, they fill up regularly, even on weekdays

We stumbled upon this little gem twenty years ago on our way south and when I knew we were going to be back passing through I made a reservation to return. It took me several calls before I got someone to answer to take my reservation, so don't call in the morning, no one will answer and there is no voice mail.

This is the only place to stay in Goldfield, but the traveler should come prepared for a few things. First of all, the check-in is in the saloon, and if you are offended by cigarette smoke, this is not the place for you as the locals were lined up puffing away. The sign on the highway notes that the saloon is the home of "Nevada's Meanest Bartender" so making a big deal out of any complaints you might have should be reconsidered. The saloon is very interesting and if you can stand the smoke, it is worth seeing as it doesn't appear to have changed much in the hundred and nine years it has been open.

Don't come intent on using the "Free WiFi" that they advertise. While we were able to connect to the wifi, when we entered the password we were given we received a message that said "No more sessions allowed for user 'guest'". I went back to the saloon to ask and was told that "Yeah that happens all the time and we don't know why. Just keep trying and you will get on eventually." Well, I kept trying, but I never got on, even at six the next morning.

It didn't appear that the room had changed much in twenty years other than normal 20-year wear and tear. But the room was clean and didn't smell bad. The sink drain was very slow, but the shower had great pressure and drained just fine. There was plenty of hot water.

The bartender hands you a TV remote when you check in and gives an abbreviated set of instructions that include which buttons NOT to press less the system gets screwed up and if it is after the saloon is closed then you are out of luck. The TV had lots of channels, but we couldn't find ABC, CBS, or NBC, just cable channels.

All those things being said, it is the quietest motel I've ever slept in. No train noise, no highway noise, no noise at all, just dead quiet. It was very relaxing and I got a good night sleep.

The neighborhood is very interesting. Even if you don't stay here, it is worth the short drive to just see the outside of the place and the places across the street.

Room Tip: There are only a few rooms, and they are all about the same. Bring your own pillow if you can, the p...

What a gem in the middle of nowhere. We stayed here for a night on our trip (only place to stay in Goldfield NV). It was so filled with history and a nice saloon. The rooms were big, very clean and quiet. This is a no frills place so you might want to bring an electric tea kettle and coffee for the Am and a cooler with munchies. there is a small diner in town called the Dinky Diner good food and great people and the prices are reasonable. If you want to see an old mining town and maybe even a ghost go to Goldfield. Also ask about the car graveyard (really a grave yard of cars).

We were glad we stopped in Goldfield for the night. You can stay at a Best Western anytime but this is unique. And there is a diner in town called Dinky's Diner right on the hiway going thru town. We had a great dinner (they close at 7 pm) and a great breakfast in the morning. Linda and her daughter Kerry were so nice to visit with and hear some of Goldfield's history from. It is an easy and interesting walk from the Motel to the Diner.

We have wet our whistle in the saloon several times before but this time we spent the night in the motel. The room was clean and everything worked properly including the WiFi which we were warned can be unreliable at times. The heat pump was a little noisy but worked well and we have experienced worse. We were able to back the pickup right to our door and use the bed as our refrigerator. The room was well cared for.

Room Tip: All the rooms are great but the rooms on either end have an extra window.

Stayed here for a night while heading south to AZ. Large room with 2 queen beds, a fridge and microwave along with everything else a motel has. Small water heater so keep that in mind if multiple want to shower one after another. Was extremely quiet at night!! Only downside was if you are arriving after dark, which we did, you need to watch for the sign as the motel is about a half mile off of 95 so is easy to miss.

Based on reports from tripadvisor, a friend and I decided to spend a night here on our trip north. At first sight it was somewhat offputting, but after checking in we were very pleasantly surprised. The room was very clean and the beds were comfortable. There was a picnic table available for eating, which was nice as we had brought our own food for supper. The motel was extremely quiet. We usually walk both in the evening and in the mornings, and there were lots of places to walk. All in all, we were not only satisfied, but very happy to have stayed here.
