I stayed at this stunning resort for 4 nights. On arrival I was kindly upgraded to a lake view room which was very nice. The sunrises and sunsets from the lake are just amazing.
Food was good in Rick's Cafe where I had a good American styled breakfast.
Room service food was quite limited but good portions sizes for the hungry person.
Swimming pools and facilities very good and very friendly staff in entire hotel.

Definitely worth another visit to this beautiful resort!

Our party wanted to take a breather on our trip before we headed into our final destination of Las Vegas on our recent trip so we decided on staying at the Westin Lake Las Vegas, and we were impressed on arrival. We were suprised that this hotel was not busy at all, which was a blessing for us. I'm not sure how long this hotel has been part of the Westin brand, but everything was up to the usual Westin quality. The only bad thing about this place was the "adults" pool was not open when we wanted to use it.

Room Tip: go the pool view!

This hotel is beautiful and the pool is amazing! My family and I really enjoyed the pool, water slide, and beach area. However, there are only a few umbrellas at the pool so, if possible, arrive to the pool early. We actually ended up renting a cabana for $50 for a half day and it was worth the money. Many of the Lake Las Vegas restaurants and hotels have closed, but we just stayed at the Westin and it was a wonderful stay! We also love all the kid-friendly events- the movies at the pool and the s’mores on the beach.

We (husband, wife, 7 year old and 12 year old) spent 2 nights and 3 days at this resort. We choose it specifically for several reasons. First, we wanted to be away from the Strip -smoking, drinking and crowds. Second, we have stayed at other Westin Hotels and have really enjoyed their amenities. We arrived around 5 pm. We were immediately greeted by the Bell person and proceeded to Check in. Linda at the front desk was personable and answered our many questions. We requested and got a room with an actual patio that had two chairs and a little table. The room was very nice. My only observation was that the patio furniture was dirty. I called house keeping and within 10 minutes someone was there to clean it off for us. After having traveled four hours we were all anxious to get to the pools and try out the slide. The problem was that even though it was 6 pm, the pool areas and slide were closed. The only thing open to us was the lake. I went to the front desk and complained and we were given permission to use the pools -but not the slide. The next day we went down to the pools at 9 am (because the sign said that was the time they open) but the slide didn't open until 10. That was disappointing for the kids. When it finally opened we all gave it a try only to find out that there wasn't enough water volume to push us down. We had to scoot to the bottom. So much for a water "slide". We were very surprised by these things because we've stayed at the Westin in Rancho Mirage and they have a great slide and pool area. Upon check out we spoke to the Cole, the Front Office Manager and let him know that we were disappointed with our experience. He explained that the Westin had only acquired the property a few months ago and that they were in the process of updating the pools, gym and other areas. He apologized and encouraged us to give them a try in nine months. On a positive note, the property is beautiful. The pools are not crowded at all. It truly is a family resort.

Room Tip: Ask for a room that has a patio with chairs. We enjoyed sitting out in the morning and evening hours. The only draw back is that the view is not that great from the rooms with patios because of the vegetation but it was worth it.

We booked the Presidential Suite at The Westin Lake Las Vegas. We stayed Tuesday, May 29th - Friday, June 1st...just after the booked Memorial Day Weekend. I traveled with my wife, twin 3 yr olds and our 13 month old.

Upon checking in, the young lady at the front desk (please forgive me for forgetting your name) informed me that although the Pres Suite is beautiful, it is located on the top floor without direct pool/beach access. She saw I had 3 little ones and knew we came to spend the days in the water. So She asked me to look at the layout of the Casbah Suites. They overlook the pool and have giant balconies. I was sold. There was no way I would've been happy going up and down an elevator all day. Now we were poolside. For a small upgrade fee, my family of 5 settled into the bungalow for 3 glorious nights. Check-in gets an A+

The suite itself did not disappoint. They are separate standing one bedroom "bungalows" with a HUGE balcony/patio, which is where we spent most of our time. And by separate, I mean they are a short walk from the main hotel. In fact, we parked our car right outside our bungalow, #1904. You walk into the entry way, which has a 1/2 bath on the left. It opens to the main room. Beautiful big screen LCD on the wall and the patio and pool come into view as you enter. Nice size living room with dining room and table for 4. Full size refrigerator, sink and microwave in kitchen. Which is a necessity with young kids. Bedroom was decent size with LCD tv and walk in closet. Beautiful marble bathroom with separate bath and shower and two sinks. No complaints about the Casbah Suite. Room gets an A+

Pool and grounds were well maintained. But like other reviewers, it's disappointing to enter the Lake Las Vegas grounds and drive through with a yellow and unused golf course. And it may not even be a part of the Westin. But it sets a bad precedent as it's the first thing we see as we drive to the Westin. The kids loved the lower pool. Upper pool has the nicer cabanas and is more adult oriented. Lower pool has a slide and it has direct beach access. There was poolside cocktail service but I ordered one house margarita and it was $18. Now I'm all about spending money at resorts. You know certain things are going to cost you more...But $18 for a house margarita?

Overall we had an excellent experience. It's a great place to go to Vegas without actually going to "Vegas". My parents live here and they were able to come hang out with us without any hassle. The kids had plenty of room to run around without worrying about disturbing other guests. There is a casino at another resort here in Lake Las Vegas but it's very small and only electronic gaming. You can take a shuttle from the Westin if you choose.

I would recommend this hotel to couples and families alike. It's not the party spot. As long as you know this is a quiet out of the way resort where you can come and relax, then this is your place. No shows, no casinos, less drunk idiots running around, and lots of peace and quiet. This is that type of resort. So leave all your worries behind. And go to Westin Lake Las Vegas.

Room Tip: Get the Casbah Suite if you can afford it. WORTH IT! Most of the time they have promotions. We got the 3rd night FREE!
