This is a beautiful facility in a Moorish style with tile floors and whitewashed walls. There are many levels to the hotel and you can always find an alcove somewhere for a drink or some peace and quiet. The staff is outstanding, from the valets to the people at the desk. In particular, bellman Eric was extremely helpful and attentive. He knows hospitality and I hope he goes far in his career.
The food at the two restaurants was decent if not perfect. Outdoors, the hotel has two pools -- one primarily for kids and their parents and one for adults. As with the inside staff, the pool staff was fantastic. Very attentive to your needs and always checking to see if you needed a refill.
We were there Wednesday through Sunday and it got quite busy and loud starting Friday night.
Now, the bad. The furniture, carpet, and rugs. A lot of the furniture in our room and elsewhere in the hotel is dinged and cheap (the coffee table in our room was about to collapse). There were stains in the carpet in our room, and the chairs/carpet/rugs in the common areas were unpleasantly stained. With a little sprucing up -- and I hope the company speeds the money to do so -- this could be an absolutely first rate hotel.More
