We spent a night at the Westin Lake Las Vegas on our drive from Los Angeles to Zion National Park. It's a nice property away from the strip (which is what we were looking for). There are free pedal boats and a fun slide for the kids. The front desk is very friendly at check in (maybe a wee bit too friendly because we were waiting quite a bit for the conversation to finish before we could check in). The room was a typical Westin double. My main complaint would be the slide hours…it was 100 in the early evening during the summer and the slide was closed! There were lifeguards walking about but the slide was closed! The breakfast buffet was as expected with an omelet station and waffle bar.

Nice hotel, but we didn't get to enjoy it much due to illness. We only stayed one night with most of it being in the ER. The desk, however, was very nice when we returned and told us no need to check out until 4 p.m. which was so helpful. The dining area did provide wonderful broth and juice free of charge. The rooms were beautiful and comfortable and clean. The bathroom was huge. The elevators were extremely slow and there is an odor of flowers piped throughout the hotel that maybe while not ill would have been lovely, but seemed overwhelming. The resort is far from everything, so if you are looking for serenity, this is the place.

We loved this hotel. The grounds are beautiful and the pools are amazing. One of the nicest pools I've experienced. Lots of chairs and umbrellas, large pool and nice atmosphere. I thoroughly enjoyed swimming in and relaxing by the pool. They also have a nice little beach area to hang out and use kayaks for free or pay to paddle board. The food was excellent. We ordered room service the night we arrived and it arrived quickly, was hot and delicious -- a bit expensive but it was good. We had the buffet the next day and it was really good and a very good value for the money. They had a slide for the pool for kids and a nice basketball court. This is a really great resort about 30 minutes away from the strip. Great vacation spot. Staff were all friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend this hotel and will go there again. My only complaint was not having a door to separate the bed from the living room/pullout couch.

The highlight of this hotel are supposed to be the pools and its beach. Both were closed when I visited for the chance of maybe a thunderstorm later - nobody was allowed outside the hotel even though there was no sign of bad weather anywhere close. I did not want to go into the water but rather relax on the beach -- so that policy stroke me as overbearing.

In the meantime, I tried to get some work done, but the Internet was too slow to even download my corporate e-mail.

I did not bring kids, but probably would not consider that either: The Kids' Club runs up USD 95 per kid per day.

Barely a four star property, this hotel should not be in into the same family as other Westins.

Please understand that our guests' safety is always our highest priority. We have a strict policy in place to close our pool and beach if there is a chance of a thunderstorm and we deeply regret the negative impact that this had on your stay. We strive to cater to both children and adults and offer many activities for families. We hope you'll someday allow us the opportunity to welcome you back with your family.

poor service,
I arrived 20 minutes before the time to do the check in and If I want to do the earlier check in I have to pay $ 20
When i arrived at the hotel room I was totally disapointed, One soap for 4 people, ou have to choose or you take a shower or you wash your hands.
No to towels enough.
The creamer for coffe was open.
The sheet set smell bad.

I brought the kids for the weekend to the Westin Lake Las Vegas. The place is awesome, and the pools are glorious. I want to emphasize the awesome elements and then make a couple suggestions to the mgmt. First-- the pools are fantastic, and basically-- it's a desert paradise. The massive palms surrounding the pool are really amazing. It's obvious that they were installed fully grown, and.. yeah.. wow... it's just a great way to spend the day, hanging out by the pool. I rented a cabana for the day to get out of the sun. That was awesome. The cabana came with bottles of Icelandic water, a nice bowl of fruit, fluffy towels... had misting and an overhead fan, etc. The kids had an amazing time, and were as thrilled as thrilled can be-- playing in the pools, going on the water slide, paddleboarding in the Lake, etc. They loved the DJ at the pool on Saturday afternoon, and the movies by the pool after dark. And-- I want to underline-- that the buffet dinners at Rick's were amazing. I'm sort of a gastronomic guy-- and I would really rate the food as 5-stars. It's American fare, but creative, first class, delish, and exceptional. Plus, although some people complain about the costs, the buffet was around $20/person-- and I think that was underpriced for the the quality of the food. On the downside, and these are comparatively minor, I would recommend to the mgmt that they replace the soiled and stained chairs throughout the lobby, and consider, perhaps, not having carpet in RIck's cafe. It's rather stained, as was the carpeting in our room. Those things sort of make me wonder, because they are somewhat prominent. If all the carpet was fresh, and the furniture in the lobby was new, I'd give the place five stars. Oh-- one thing that I really love-- no casino in the place. Thank God-- an escape from the cheesy, tacky environment of the Strip!
