Owner description: Rocky coves and boulders to jump off of are the primary features of this beach.

If you are going here, plan on getting in before 11am in the summer, even during weekdays. The lot does get full with a fee of $10. Since the lot is controlled, the place doesn’t get too crowded.

The water is so clear and the nicest public beach area in Lake Tahoe. Make sure you check out the rock formations on the north side of the beach. In July-August, the Shakespeare Festival is held here at sunset.

If you like stones, it is a perfect place to go. We just walked around for photos and this place is beautiful. Lot of people at the beach and enjoying the clear water and sand.

My family along with a friends family came to this beach. The women and children went to the beach and our husbands parked the car. Our husbands were walking to join us and the rangers forbade them to join us. Told them they had to take a shuttle to be able to join us. It made me give a star.

Well worth the visit. I was very surprised at how clear the water was. Scenic drive to and from the Sand Harbor.

We could not have been more pleased with our trip to Sand Harbor. The scenery is breathtaking, it’s a must if you’re in the area! We arrived at 9am with plenty of parks no and beach space available. We’re were able to easily unload our kayaks and enjoy all the lake had to offer. The facilities are immaculate and the beach was very clean and family friendly.
