“Really nice hotel”
Reviewed 5 August 2013

This hotel is recommended as a really nature located hotel surrounded by woods and near Lake Tahoe. The staff is excellent, hotel very clean, a the rooms are nice, but small. The location is great for taking nature walks, but keep an eye out for wild animals, just in case!!! Enjoy this hotel, however, the prices are a little too high for this area.

We just returned from a two night stay at the Hyatt High Sierra in Incline Village. We were very impressed with the property and our room. Summer is very busy at this resort and throughout the Lake Tahoe area. Despite the crowds, this resort was relatively quiet and peaceful. As others have mentioned, the private beach and fitness center are actually located on the Hyatt Regency property which is just across the parking lot. The private beach was beautiful, well managed and well serviced by waitstaff. Plenty of recliners, towels, etc. The Hyatt also has a group on site that manages the water sport activities. You can easily rent a kayak, waterboard, jet ski, or arrange for water skiiing. The Hyatt Regency pools are open to guests of the Hyatt High Sierra 5 days a week (we were told by the Hyatt Sierra front desk that we could not use the Hyatt Regency pools on Friday or Saturday) The Hyatt High Sierra does have its own pool, hot tub, firepit, grilling area, and even a party room with a billard table.
The fitness center at the Hyatt Regency was pretty complete and in line with expectations. The only other things that I would mention are they seem to closely adhere to the 4 p.m. check-in time (others have noted that here as well), the private beach is a bit of a walk, and the smores kits at the front office are $5 (6 marshmellows and a Hershey's bar). Very minor points.

This is the second summer our family of 5 has stayed at the Hyatt High Sierra, but this summer we booked it for the 4th of July. Incline Village is a fabulous place to stay during this holiday week. Yes, it is very crowded but the Hyatt property is so well managed and well staffed that you do not want for anything. Guests and staff all seem to be in great spirits (how could you not be in this slice of heaven?) and everyone cooperates to keep the vibe chill.

There are fireworks at King's Beach on July 3rd, at Incline (the fireworks barge is almost in front of the hotel beach) on the 4th of July, and private fireworks on July 5th - I believe at Michael Milken's beachside home which is close by. Incline's fireworks show in front of the Hyatt is extremely well done!

The Hyatt High Sierra units are quite attractive. There is no air-conditioning in the bedrooms/baths although there are ceiling fans over the beds. But those rooms still need cool, circulating air and this is a design flaw. This year I brought an additional fan with me as I remembered how stuffy the room could be at night even with the window open. Also we had problems with the air conditioning unit and had to call maintenance twice.

There is too much heavy furniture in the rooms which really uses up valuable square footage and I hope they streamline the furnishings on the next refurbishment.

The staff at the High Sierra are extremely friendly and efficient. The location of these units are not waterfront but neither is the hotel. The quality of these units combined with the amenities of the hotel make for a very comfortable family holiday.

Our arrival was little rocky our room wasn't ready but we were early. They told us 4pm and we went to the grocery and came back and it still wasn't ready. It was another hour but they let us put the groceries in the fridge. The rooms are very nice but too much bulky furniture in the bedrooms. The a/c isn't the greatest it is only located in the living room so you have to leave the doors open to the bedrooms to get them cool. Luckily it isn't very warm at night! The grounds are beautiful! The Hyatt hotel is in the same parking lot so you can just walk over to the casino and gym. The pool at the High Sierra is small but the hotel has a nice big pool and hot tubs. They have good movies to check out plus puzzles and games. The Hyatt private beach and pier is awesome! They have boats, kayaks, paddle boards and jet skis to rent. The water is very cold though! The area is a great location with lots of things to do close by. All in all it is a beautiful resort to visit and we will be back!

We stayed at this resort as an exchange with Interval International instead of our usual group- Diamond Resorts Intl. It is smaller than most timeshares we have been to with only 6 buildings. Because of this and it being spring we often had the pool and hot tub area to ourselves. The condo we stayed in had 2 bedrooms and 2 baths. The condo was lovely and cozy, it had a cabin feel to it which totally fit the surrounding area of tall pine trees next to beautiful Lake Tahoe. The staff was friendly and helpful. We will definitely come back!

Recently updated, these 2 BR with kitchen "condo style" units are wonderful for up to six people (assuming a few kids).

The best part of this property is the location however. Incline Village is not-so-secret-anymore secret of Lake Tahoe - simply the best place to stay on the lake. It's more a community than a tourist destination.

Next to Hyatt Sierra are all the amenities of the Hyatt Hotel. Spa and gym, pools, restaurants, and casino. During the summer the private beach is terrific and in the winter nearby (5 minutes) Diamond Peak Ski Resort has the best views of the lake.

You are also close to some great mountain dining with Austin's across the street for dinner. Great chicken fried chicken salads and entrees. Never a bad meal.

Love Love Love this property!

Hyatt has done a really great job with these vacation club properties! This one is no exception. The room was spacious and beautifully decorated. It was within walking distance to the resort/spa/casino which was an added bonus. There were four adults in a two bedroom unit and we had plenty of space. My only wish is that there was an option to have a unit with a king and a queen instead of just a king and two twins. If you stay here, you must have dinner at the Lone Eagle Grill and sit by the window. Exceptional view!

Room Tip: Ask for a room close to the resort
