“Hits all of the high notes”
Reviewed 4 September 2013

Celebrated a very special anniversary here and couldn't have been more pleased. The chef has clearly devoted a great deal of thought, passion and craft into creating a memorable menu. The ingredients, the creative sauces and beautifully presented dishes were all outstanding. The staff provided just the right amount of attentive service and were very knowledgeable about the dishes and chef's philosophy. I think you get an amazing 5 course meal for $53. They also have some very decent wines by the glass at decent prices, plus put together a fine Kir Royale. Highly recommend for a night when you want to be feted and sated

“Just delightful”
Reviewed 3 September 2013

It's hard to find a restaurant today that is consistently good with true gourmet food, minus the "attitude"'. Le Bistro is truly that kind of restaurant. The food is sumptuous, presentation artistic, and wine list is good. The restaurant itself is small and unpretentious, allowing the food to be the "star" attraction. Portions are modest, which allows you to enjoy the entire five course, prix fixe menu without feeling stuffed.

Hostess Sylvia and chef Jean Pierre Doignon, have owned and run the restaurant for over twenty years. The entire dinning experience here is just delightful.

“Makes a Special Occassion even more special.”
Reviewed 1 September 2013 via mobile

Having just recently returned from a month in France, I was looking forward to dining at Le Bistro for our anniversary. Le Bistro was not a disappointment, it was just as good as it was on our first visit two years ago. AND every bit as good as any restaurant where we dined in France. The decor is not fancy, but true to a Country French bistro. The food is fabulous. The five-course $53 price fixe menu is a bargain, and every course was special and artistically presented. Portions are small, but by the time you finish all five courses, you couldn't squeeze in another bite. Still our favorite restaurant at Lake Tahoe.

“France in Tahoe”
Reviewed 31 July 2013 via mobile

Le bistro is about the most perfect combination of France in Tahoe!
We thought the food was delightful, the service team worked so well together and it all somehow struck the perfect combination of lake casual and French proper! Great special occasion place - request a booth for two or a table for more - nice wine list for pairing or by the glass or bottle - plan on the Prix fix full menu... It's just that kind of place and actually a good value for the entire experience.. Trust me We have been in France for the last two summers!

“A real French bistro”
Reviewed 29 July 2013

It is hard to imagine that you could find a real French bistro in Incline Village. The atmosphere is real and the food and service is outstanding. Sylvia and Jean-Pierre Doignon are the Chef and Hostess owners of this charming, cozy bistro. For over 20 years locals and visitors have patronized this restaurant. The menu is prix-fixe (5 courses for a fixed price) and has a good variety of French cuisine. The sommelier Dave is knowledgeable and friendly with a wine list at reasonable prices.
