“Great Exchange”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 June 2013

I am a Worldmark member. As such, I have high expectations for exchange resorts. This resort is well maintain. The units are large. The kitchens well stocked. My unit had newer counter tops. The appliances are dated but function properly. The second bathroom is small but functional. The clubhouse offers nightly happy hour specials so there is no need to leave the resort. The pool was nice and hot tub perfect temperature. The tennis court was a favorite for my kids as they used it nightly. Rackets available for rent. The daily linen exchange from 8 AM to 4 PM was convenient. The resort is located close to Raley's so it was easy to walk to for groceries. Received free tickets for one day to the private beaches along Lakeshore Dr. Went to Burnt Cedar Beach which has an outdoor pool with slide. Kids loved it. If you have more than one car, parking can be tricky. The only negative is the workout room. It has two older exercise bikes and one old Reebok treadmill. A Precor treadmill and elliptical would be nice. I look forward to coming back to Club Tahoe.

This is an older, well maintained time share in incline village. All the units are the same...2BR.2 bath,loft- 3 levels...kitchen, living room dining room...free standing fireplace. It is well situated in incline village...walking distance or short drive to everything you might need.there is a Raley's grocery about 1/4 mile away with good selection and prices.

We are a couple with 2 adult children and the space was good. Ideal for 4...a little cramped for 6 (unless you have smaller children...the upstairs loft has 2 twin beds)...

Also, if you have mobility issues this is not a good fit as all the units have stairs (up to the living area/down to the bedrooms.

The resort itself offers tennis courts, pool/hot tub. sauna. a few exercise machines, pool tables, video arcade, board games.

check in was easy and quick, staff is helpful...they do not have shampoo/conditioner/lotion but do have limited condiments (salt/pepper/sugar/creamers/catsup/mustard/mayo) for the asking at the front desk.

the beach just down the street is really nice (we were there in the off season so did not need a pass) in the summer, they offer club tahoe guests a pass to use the beach area free of charge.

there is a disc golf course nearby...free and fun, also numerous hiking/biking trails in the area. The driving range/golf course was reasonably priced.

The units are in a wooded area so it has an outdoorsy feel...we were in #83 so had a view of the trees (not our neighbors)

Overall we were pleasantly surprised

We stayed in a Club Tahoe condo for a week in April after most ski resorts had shut down. Compared to the 30-some condos we've stayed in through exchange programs, this condo is clean, spacious and well-furnished -- wood-burning fireplace, two bedrooms plus a two-bed loft, table seating for six. It has a few less amenities than some (no salt and pepper, complementary coffee packet, shampoo or hand lotion, or kleenex), but a nicer setting than others (4-unit blocks spaced among the pines). We loved the north shore Lake Tahoe location, away from the casinos and development. We'd stay here again.

Where do I begin? Due to timing issues, we couldn't book a room in Heavenly, so DH booked a room here. I didn't mind the drive to the ski resorts (I'm used to ski-in/ski-out access), but what bothered me was that there was no shampoo, conditioner or body wash (there was bar soap, but I don't use bar soap) AND you had to take out the trash upon check out. I'm used to 4 & 5 star lodging, so if that's what you like, this is not the place for you.

The rooms were spacious enough and fairly clean. A turn off was finding a dirty blanket with dried lotion or body fluid on it--utterly disgusting. While they have dishwashers and laundry in-room, you'll want to bring your own laundry detergent/pods as they don't supply any (the Marriott Grand Residence and Timber Lodge at Heavenly both do).

Maybe it's not fair to compare these lodgings and maybe if I had known what we were getting into, the "condo" atmosphere would be less displeasing. The facilities were quite dated, but this location might work in other situations (just not for us). That said, we will not be returning here and I would not recommend this location to anyone I know.

We stayed here for a week and felt very much at home. Huge condo with two little beds upstairs, a spacious main floor with a kitchen, flat screen TV, roomy couch, dining table, and fireplace. The bottom floor had two bathrooms (one with a tub) and two big beds. Oh, and a washer and dryer! A big bonus was that the place was spotless and was stocked with everything we needed. The kitchen had a toaster, coffee maker, even a blender. Plenty of cooking utensils and silverware and dishes. Placemats and cloth napkins! Dishwashing liquid and detergent, sponges. There were two Duraflame logs which were wonderful. A blow dryer and shampoo, tons of fresh towels.

I can't say much about the service because we actually had very little interaction with the staff. When you check in here, you're basically left alone for your trip unless you call the front desk or visit the club house. You won't have housekeeping coming by to clean up your condo during your stay. However, we didn't mind this because we had everything we needed. And everything worked well so we never needed to call and ask for maintenance.

Excellent place for a family stay (2 bdrms + Loft). Location is perfect -- walking distance to stores and eating places, and less than 10 minutes to Diamond Peak ski area. It is well operated, with helpful staff, and nice club house and bar. Great value!

Room Tip: All units are same (very good)

Fair warning, my family bought a time share unit at Club Tahoe in the late 1970s and have been coming here for 3 weeks in August ever since. The clubhouse is a little dated. The units, however, are frequently updated and redone to keep them current and fresh. The pool and spa have been redone in the last couple of years. There are tennis courts and racquetball courts and some old gym equipment. Our daughters love coming to Club Tahoe. The location is convenient for walking to the grocery store and just a few places to eat. If you are able bodied the walk to the lake isn't bad at all either. Since we are owners, we get passes to the resident only private beaches at Lake Tahoe which are very, very nice. I don't know if you get the passes if you stay for less than a week. When we Go to Club Tahoe, we use it as a homebase while we travel around and explore the region. We like to go kayaking, hiking, sightseeing all around the lake area. It is very convenient to have a fully stocked kitchen so We don't have to go out to eat all the time.

The bottom line is, I loved coming to Club Tahoe as a child and my children love coming to Club Tahoe also. As an adult, I still enjoy coming to Club Tahoe and I will for years to come.
