Owner description: Founded in 1996, the Neon Museum is a non-profit 501 (c) 3 organization dedicated to collecting, preserving, studying and exhibiting iconic Las Vegas signs for educational, historic, arts and cultural enrichment. You may view the collection through either an hour-long guided tour, a self-guided tour or on a limited-access basis. Tours are available seven days a week and tour times vary based on the season. Dedicated individuals from the private sector, as well as corporate and government entities, worked collaboratively to promote the preservation of these national treasures as significant pieces of artistic and historical importance. Each sign in the Neon Museum’s collection chronicles changes and trends in sign design and technology through pieces ranging from the 1930s to the present day. Public education, outreach, research, archival preservation and a grant-funded neon sign survey represent a selection of the museum’s ongoing projects.

The most important thing to realize that if you go at night, the only advantage is that it won't be as hot -- I thought all the signs might be lit up, but they are not. Some are, but only a few.

Guide was very informative, and the whole thing is only an hour long so it's easily manageable. (Our tour included a kid who interrupted every two minutes, which was annoying, but the guide dealt with him in a kind, effective way.) This tour is a great way to learn more about Vegas history. Recommended.

Took the guided daytime tour. Bring your own water (or buy. For $1) and a hat or umbrella for shade. Excellent hour long history of the signs, plenty of space to snap a few photos. Get a cab, it will cost about $7 from Golden Nugget and they will gladly order a return cab for you.

This tour is probably more enjoyable when it isn't 110 degrees outside otherwise, it was great! Our tour guide was very knowledgeable! We learned many fun and interesting facts not only about the signs but about Las Vegas itself. The daytime tour is $18 (students and seniors get a discount), the evening tour is $25. We originally were going to take the evening tour but found out only four signs where lit...we enjoyed it so much I'm sure we'll be back to check out the evening tour. It's a fun outing away from the smoky casinos. Would highly recommend.

Great place to go to see the neon signs from the era of Las Vegas that doesn't exist anymore. For anyone familiar with, or who wants to learn more about the history of Las Vegas, this is the place to go. Their sign collection is incredible, and the docents are VERY knowledgeable about the history of Las Vegas and the signs in the collection. I thoroughly enjoyed the tour and I highly recommened a visit here to anyone in the Vegas area. If you like history or neon you won't be disappointed!!

Las Vegas has to be the most dynamic city on the planet, shedding its glittery skin every few years and emerging as yet another outrageous beast we all want to marvel at. The Neon Museum lets you wallow in a little nostalgia, giving you the opportunity to transport yourself back to any Las Vegas you want to find yourself in.
We 'd recommend a night tour when many of the signs are lit up in all their glory and the shadows create an atmosphere which fires the imagination. Our guide was informative and packed lots of facts and anecdotes into the time we had. Plenty of photo opportunities. Thoroughly recommended.
