Was a lovely hotel, smelt like coconuts. Just a shame that there was no tea making facilities. We took two trips the hotel organised to Hollywood and grand canyon both were amazing well worth the prices we paid.

The whole experience of staying in the Luxor was the smell of drains as you go through to the tower blocks then the artifical smell in the tower blocks, I guess to hide the smell of old cigarette smoke. Saying that the room in the tower was good and spacious but the actual pyramid part was looking old and jaded. The staff were very pleasant. The Luxor is nearly at the bottom end of the 9km strip, not the best position. I would not stay there again.

Room Tip: Ask for an upgrade in the tower blocks, facing the strip.

We were in Vegas in June 2014 to attend a family wedding. We wanted to be close the Mandalay Bay (wedding site) without paying the exorbitant prices at Mandalay Bay. The reception was at the Excalibur, so we needed to be close to it as well. We also needed something family friendly, since our 9 year old son was traveling with us. The Luxor was the perfect fit.

Pros
The rooms were spacious, reasonably priced and clean! Check-in and out was quick and painless. The travel between the Mandalay Bay and Excalibur was easy since we could stay inside and walk between hotels, or take the tram between the hotels. Several restaurants and fast food places were easily accessible within the Luxor, as well as more within a short walk inside the Excalibur. My son loved the Jabbawockeez show, and it was conveniently located inside the Luxor! My son enjoyed the unique pyramid shape of the hotel and Egyptian theme.

Cons
Someone left a clothes hanger and 3-4 juice glasses in the hallway. No one from housekeeping picked them up for 2 full days (and they were still there when we left.) I almost tripped on the clothes hanger and my son almost stepped on the juice glasses. I tried to scoot them to the side so no one would fall or step on glass. I don't know what the deal was with that. It was a very long hallway, we were down at the end of it, so maybe the staff in charge of cleaning the hallway just didn't get down that far? The rest of the hotel was clean, as well as the rooms.
One other con was the sales pitches for the time share resorts. They got us when we were first checking in, and tried to get us a couple of times after that at different places on the ground level. When we told them no, there were polite and left us alone. It was just a little annoying. However, they did offer some great deals, if you don't mind going through the time share pitch. We did not want to go through it!

Dear Love2Travel_H,

It is wonderful to know Luxor was the perfect fit during your recent visit to Las Vegas. By the sound of your review, our connecting walkways made all the difference in terms of convenience, and we are glad to see you appreciated this feature. Jabbawockeez has become a top rated show on the Strip due to the sheer talent and thrilling theatrics. We are so happy to hear your son enjoyed it, and we hope you all will be back again soon!

Sincerely,

My boyfriend and I made a spur of the moment decision to drive to Vegas and gamble. We found a good deal for the Luxor and since he has never been to the city but recognized the name, we tried it. Upon arrival, we were immediately whisked away from check in by a man in a suit inquiring our length of stay, etc. He led us to a concierge looking desk (it wasn't) and another man began hustling show tickets. I say hustle because it is either that or con. Needless to say, we fell for the great 'deal' of $20 tickets and the free buffet and blah blah and all we would have to do is show up in an hour for a tour that we did not have to stay for. His words. I write this as a warning. Don't fall for the scheme unless you want an entire day wasted on looking at a time share. As far as the hotel is concerned, beware of the elevators. They are scary to put it mildly unless you enjoy a slow journey of creaking and shaking similar to an old wooden roller coaster without the charm. These elevators are so awful I refused to continue gambling without my boyfriend so I would not have to ride in it alone and he adamantly refused to get in two of the cars after riding in them each one time. His words to many people? These elevators are reason to not return. The room itself was adequate, nothing spectacular but clean. Then again, we didn't need anything fancy for one night so it was fine. Bottom line, I love Vegas and we both love to gamble. I left this time disappointed because I did not get to play as much as I wanted, I felt constantly harassed by these con people and the fact my boyfriend does not want to go back. Next time, I will spend more to get more because the 'great deal' definitely is NOT worth it.

Had a hickup at the beginning when booked into a smoking room by mistake. Furthermore this room had the wrong connecting cable for our UK Laptop.

So checked out and went down stairs to grumble. Was placed in the West Tower (not to beheaded) and had a great room with Wifi. Also given a $50 voucher for the restaurant in the hotel.

So hats off for rectifying the situation. Room was big. Adjoining room door annoying as alarm clock in that room was loud enough to hear. Had a shower and a separate bath. Those shaving mirrors are the best.

Easy to park. Small hotel so you can get from one end to the other easily. (not like MGM).

Would return. Kinda liked it there. No pushy selling.

We stayed just one night at Luxor in March this year, and we enjoyed our stay. It was a real fun hotel, and worth visiting, not like anything else! =D
The room was very average, but clean, though no wi-fi in the room. We had a view of the Sfinx and the Strip, which was cool. =) It's located almost at the end of the strip, so if you plan to walk alot up and down the strip - be sure to bring good shoes!
We have also stayed at the Excalibur, Monte Carlo, and the MGM Grand, and we like the MGM Grand the best. The buffet at Excalibur, Monte Carlo and Luxor are very similar, and not really much to write home about. But it's just fine, if you are not very picky. ;)
