We stayed here to attend a conference taking place next door at the Mandalay Bay, mid week. The COST of our room was SIGNIFICANTLY less than staying next door. Paid less than $40/night! There is a $20/night resort fee added to that on check in, but that still kept the rate at less than 1/3 if we had stayed in the hosting hotel. The room we stayed in on floor 8 in the pyramid was clean and comfortable, decent decor, quiet. The elevator ride is interesting since it angles with the pyramid. Has 3 Starbucks locations. We learned to go to the far location since everyone uses the one closest to the lobby (just walk directly back, away from the lobby to find the other, less busy). Cool that it has several shows on site. We ate upstairs at Rice, and so good. See my review on that. Also, food court on 2nd floor saved us one night after too much drinking. Thank you McDonalds...I don't typically eat there, but when drunk and ravenous, it does the trick. Casino floor was easy enough to get through/around. Not the nicest casino, but OK. Overall, I would stay here again, especially because the price is right.

Room Tip: We asked for a room close to the elevator which kept us out of the atrium area. Was quiet.

We stayed at the Luxor while on our family vacation road trip. My daughter loves Egyptian themes and the Luxor did not let us down. The lobby is amazing. You are actually standing inside a pyramid. The decor was fantastic and, despite the amount of people, you do not feel cramped. Check in was fast and easy although the room they gave us seemed a mile from the elevator. Due to the pyramid structure, there are three main elevators and the hallways, at lower levels are expansive. The rooms were comfy and clean. Ask for a room near the elevator or at the higher floors. Speaking about the elevator, it runs diagonal instead of up and down. Makes you feel as though you are drunk but you get used to it. We did not go into the pool but it looked inviting. We are not into gambling but there was plenty of action going on. Do buy the buffet/meal plan because it saves you some money on dining. The buffet at the Luxor is better than the one at Excalibur but you can eat at both. Take advantage of the monorail which saves you some walking when hitting the strip. Parking was easy and free but get ready to walk. Unload everything when you check in. Why did I not give it excellent. The Luxor is starting to show and smell its age. Seems a sewer line ruptured and the stench filled the area of the elevator. The view from the catwalk of our room was of maintenance rooms and electrical conduits. Despite these small negatives, I recommend staying at the Luxor and if you have a lover of all things Egyptian, it is a must.

Room Tip: Pick rooms near elevator.

When you walk in to the Luxor it takes your breath away. It's an absolutely beautiful hotel. The customer service and the rooms are some of the nicest we've experienced. My only hesitation at a perfect review is due to it's location on the strip. We enjoy walking everywhere, and due to It's distance we weren't able to do that as much. It was a very nice hotel, and it ended up being reasonably affordable.

We stayed at Luxor July 25 - 28th. The intent was to try to get a free upgrade to a spa suite in the Pyramid but none were available (Gold MLife allows us free upgrades when available). Luckily we had a wonderful lady checking us in who got us a Luxury Suite in the East Tower - $20 tip for her : ). Between our casino comps and MyVegas, the total bill for 3 nights was $24. We scored ! We visit Vegas about two times a year and usually stay at MGM or Monte Carlo. This was my second time at Luxor and my husband's first and we would stay again. The room was big with a separate bedroom, wet bar with sink, small coffee maker and a refrigerator for our use. Nice bathroom with shower - great water pressure, tub and two sinks. No complaints with the room, everything was clean and quiet. We were on the 9th floor at the end of our hall. Our view was of the airport and the backside of Tropicana. Since we were on a lower floor facing the strip, we did hear a lot of sirens but not loud enough to keep us awake. Enjoyed the buffet and the tortilla soup and nachos at Tacos and Tequila. For the first time in a few years, we came home with some of our gambling $'s, but our wins occurred outside of Luxor. Couldn't seem to get a good run going when we tried to gamble there. Overall, I would recommend Luxor to family and friends. Note: There was free unsecured guest wifi in the East Tower. However we chose to plug the ethernet cable into our secured travel router - worked great.

The Luxor Hotel on the Vegas strip is unique in its appearance and decor. The service is excellent the rooms are above average however it appeals to the masses which makes its offerings rather routine. One morning when we were on a tight time schedule for touring the Grand Canyon we awakened to no water in the entire tower in which we were lodged. While the hotel was very accommodating and offering us another room, given the time of day and the time pressure we were under this was of little consequence. In all fairness an adjustment to our overall bill was made as an accommodation for the inconvenience.

So glad we chose the Luxor. Staff was helpful and courteous. Rooms were very nice and clean! The casino floor was always very neat and clean. No cigarette butts or empty drink cups sitting around like some casinos. Poker room was neat and friendly. Highly recommend to anyone booking a trip there soon and look forward to going back next year.

I had a wonderful time coming to Las Vegas. I plan on coming back real soon with my daughter! We always love the discounts and points earned when staying in Vegas.

I can tell you that the hotel to hotel train should be stated more to the guests. That was a big help for me to get around!!!
