“A good option on a budget”
Reviewed 28 August 2014

It's not one of the top places to stay, but I find myself staying there over and over again if I need to be conservative with funds (I work for a startup!). The rooms have always clean when I was there, and it has easy access to Mandalay Bay and New York New York.

If I went for a vacation and wanted a really nice place, I'd probably pick a spot further down the strip, but I seem to always need to be at an event at Mandalay Bay. So I keep going back to the Luxor.

The staff is generally nice. I've used the exercise room a few times. The gear is decent. The pool area is nice, though I tend to be there on business and have few opportunities to enjoy it.

My only beef is that it's wired internet, not wifi. And it's getting a little long in the tooth. But as long as the price reflects that it's not at the top end, it's a decent option on a budget if you want to be on the strip.

Room Tip: I've never stayed in the "pyramid rooms", only in the tower rooms. I've heard that...

In addition to the smoke smell in our non smoking suite, we heard everything our next door neighbors did.

If you are at all sensitive to smoke (which i know is hard to avoid in vegas, but it can be done) avoid this place for your over night accommodations.

I had a great stay at the Luxor. This place would have been even greater if I had somewhere to heat up my leftover food. The staff were very friendly and the hotel rooms are very clean. I wish they had a non-smoking gaming area that would have been awesome.

Rooms are dirt cheap but comfortable. This place has been renovated several times over the years. The interior of this pyramid wonder is really cool to see. Especially for the kids. The problem with the open space is that you can hear the gambling crowds late into the night. If that is the purpose of your visit, then you're in the right place.

The only parking is in the rear of the hotel across a street. They provide a bridge into the building but it's quite a hike and no hotel luggage haulers (nice pool view on the way in though. We saw lots of hotel employees smoking on the bridge achecking out the bikini clad swimmers )

If you utilize the bell hop service in front they have a two part system. They take your luggage. Store it. Then when you reach your room you call down and they deliver it. Ends up that you have to tip twice. 4 times if you use the same service to leave.

The services were all friendly albeit busy as hell. This place is huge. (2 or 3 Starbucks in this hotel alone)

Take the free tram if your headed down the strip. Overall a good place to stay for a really cheap price (especially if you like the Egyptian Motif) Enjoy your stay!

Luxor is a very nice, clean hotel. I like the idea that Luxor, Mandalay Bay and Excaliber are all connected by a walkway and a tram. For the price this is a very good hotel with a good selection of entertainment.

Big busy hotel as all on the strip are. Rooms were big and clean and the staff were friendly. I would definitely stay here again if I ever go back to Vegas.
Only negative thing is that the Wifi was terrible. No free wifi in the rooms and the payed stuff cut out and was slow as hell.

It did the job, somewhere central as it's at the start of the strip. It is a fairly famous landmark and that is probably one of it's selling points, and a fair bit cheaper than some of the others.
Front desk check in was busy but friendly and efficient.
As with most hotels there is no in room wifi apart from through cable(to keep you out of the room I guess).
The pool was ok, shallow and very busy.

Room Tip: Ask for one of the higher level rooms -you get good views of the strip.

Dear suddini,

Although we are glad to see you were impressed with our Front Desk service, it is upsetting to know that other areas of your visit did not meet your expectations. We appreciate you sharing your constructive feedback and we will utilize your comments to continue to improve the overall guest experience. Thank you for your review, and we hope to have the chance to serve you again in the future.
