I did a lot of research on this site about this hotel so I fell like I have to add my two cents on here. I stayed at Encore From feb 5th through the 10th on the 28th floor with a strip view to celebrate my birthday.
Checkin: Checking in was nice and easy. I got to vegas really early because my motto when it comes to vacation is the earlier I leave, the earlier my vacation begins. I left ATL at 830 am so when I got to Las Vegas it was only around 1030 there. I got my rental went to a restaurant to grab a bite to eat then went to Treasure Island to pick up some Cirque tickets. Was gonna go to the Fashion Show mall but was exhausted so decided to try to get an early checkin even though it was only 130 and checkin was not until 3. I went to the front desk and explained my situation to Milani and told her that I know checkin was not till 3 but I was just ready to go to my room and get some rest. She said that it was fine and brought up my reservation and had all my requests. A non-smoking room as high as possible, with a strip view, and 2 queen sized beds. She said that the 28th floor was the best that she had and I was very pleased with that being that the regular resort suites only go to the 30th floor and above that are the Tower Suites. I asked her about Tickets to get into the clubs and she gave me complimentary admission for my friends and I for both tryst and XS which saved us at least $20 each for each club per night. I went up to the room and was pleased with the room and view.
Room: The room was very nice and about what I would expect in vegas. I did hear the people in the other rooms but that was mostly at night after they got back from partying and were loud and drunk. I could hear pipe noise as well as people in the other rooms clearly in the bathroom. The only noise that really bothered me was the noise from Club XS. The base was very loud and went on till about 4 or 5 am, cant be exact since I was already asleep by the time it closed. I was way up there and heard it very clearly so I can only imagine what people on the first 10 floors heard.
Other than that I was pleased with the room. The big screen flat panel had a good channel selection with some HD channels mixed in. The really cool thing about it was you can look at you bill online. It was updated to the minute with whatever you charged to your room account. It made it so that there were no surprises at checkout. Just so you know a bottle of water is $8. That was the one and only thing that I used from the bar. When the guy came to reset the bar with a new bottled water he must have triggered it and they charged me for another bottle of water which I noticed when I checked my bill on the tv. I called the front desk and they took it off with no fuss. I really liked the electronic curtains and sheers. The Beds were also very comfortable. We had 2 bath robes but no slippers which I didnt mind because the bathroom floor seemed like it was heated which would be the only place you needed slippers.
SPA: I went to the spa on Sun the 8th which was my birthday to treat myself with a 50min massage. DJ gave me an amazing whole body fusion massage. I was so relaxed it felt like I was just lighter than air. The ac was making some kind of weird noise and he said that he would speak to a manager about it and see what they could do. It wasnt a big deal to me but he was very serious about doing something for me. After the massage while I was enjoying the rest of the Spa facilities, DJ came and found me and deeply apologized again and said that the manager agreed to give me 25% off of my bill for the massage and give me the next day at the spa free of charge. That save me $36 on the massage and $30 on my next day spa visit. I appreciated that very much and felt like it was more than they needed to do to fix something that was not really a big problem for me.
Casino: I really like the casino at Encore. It is small and intimate and it is very hard to feel like you are in a maze unlike MGM grand or Mandalay Bays casino where they go on forever with no end in sight. I also like the music that they play in the casino. It is very relaxing and drowns out all the noise from the slot machines and other noise. I wish all the casinos played music like this.
FOOD: This is something that you should definitely research before you go to Encore. It is not cheap. Not even breakfast is cheap. You are still gonna spend about $15 for a ham and cheese croissant and a cup of tea. I was lucky because I got $100 dining credit which saved me a lot of money. I could only use it at the small deli type shops which was fine with me. I didnt eat at any of the really nice restaurants because while I wanted to try at least one of them out, my friends are mostly burger and fries type people and didnt care to spend $65 dollars on a steak and have to spend $10 for each side item. You can always walk to fashion show mall across the street for breakfast, lunch, or dinner if you feel like saving a pretty penny.
Shows: I saw Le Reve on fri night on the second row. It was absolutely visually stunning. Everything about it was amazing. I would suggest just buying the cheaper first and second row seats. They call them the wet seats but the only thing I felt was basically like a sea breeze. You are not going to get dossed with water at all. I also saw O at the Bellagio which was great as well.
Clubs: I went to club XS on Mon night and though it was a mon night, it was still packed and had a large group of people outside waiting to get in. My friends and I used our complimentary passes and got right in within a few mins. Its probably the nicest club I have ever been too but I cant imagine how much louder its going to be come summer time when it is warm outside and they can use the club for what it is meant to be, an indoors outdoors club centered around the pool.
Checkout: The only thing that bothered me was that the room attendants came 2 times and knocked on the door asking if we were checking out. Around 930 and again around 1030. I said yes but isnt checkout until 12noon and she said yes. I feel that if its not checkout time yet, then give people the time to enjoy the room for as long as they want to. My flight back to ATL was not until 250pm so I had plenty of time. We finally went down around 1145 and waited a few mins around the checkout area and had a speedy checkout. She told me my bill total which was no surprise thanks to the view my bill feature on the tv and charged it to my card on file. She then nicely thanked me for staying at Encore and said she hoped to see me again.
Overall: I must say that Encore is the type of hotel that wants the young and hip beautiful crowd. I really dont think they want families with kids staying there. Thats one reason they dont allow strollers. The feel of the hotel makes you want to dress up even if its just to go down to grab a bite to eat at one of the cafes. The hotels attention to detail shows everywhere, from the small details in the curtains, to the detailed woodwork. While it is a massive hotel, on of the top 10 largest in the world when combined with wynn, they make it fell like a small boutique hotel that doesnt cater to the masses but to a small group of patrons at a time. I will definitely stay at this hotel again. I paid between $100 to $200 a night to stay at a 5 star hotel and could not be anymore satisfied. I felt like I got plenty of value for what I paid especially with the $100 dining credit thrown in. Steve Wynns newest addition will definitely be seeing my business again in the near future.
