“Returning home”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 January 2014

I am a Bluegreen Club member and have stayed at Vegas Bluegreen Club 36 repeatedly over the last 5 years. Most recent stay January 15 - 22, 2014. It is always like returning home. The staff are always so helpful. The combined A and B units great and the strip view fantastic. We utilize the indoor pool, the work out room, the rooftop balcony, and as a special treat the in house massages. We love the off strip location as we hate the smoke filled casinos. Even walking through the casinos to get to shows or restaurants often involve inhaling the second hand smoke so we prefer to stay and sleep far away from the strip. We often rent a car, to take in the various shows, restaurants. Driving up Koval, and cutting over when we get close to where we want to be. Our favorite buffet is always at studio B at M casino far south on the strip. Paris buffet is great, but the extra wine/liquor surcharge fee truly makes M a bargain as M includes wine, beer, cappuccino with optional liqueurs at one very reasonable buffet price (except breakfast). This time we did drive to Hoover Dam, Red Rock Canyon, Spring Mountain Ranch state park as the Vegas January weather was wonderful in the high 60s with 20 below zero back home in Wisconsin.

Room Tip: I actually love the pool floor 4 as I exercise first thing in the morning. Plus I enjoy the adjoinin...

Lovely to walk into, and many of the staff are friendly, the bellhop Donovan was incredible. However the service at the front desk was slow. We had a handicapped room, and the door was too heavy for someone with a handicap to open. We had the 'standard' unit -- think lockout from a two bedroom, and it was VERY small, dark and painted khaki green, the only window was in the bedroom. All the photos of living spaces on the website are of the 'deluxe' unit which is apparently much bigger. For a couple who did not intend to spend any time in the room, or sleep on the sofa sleeper, it would be OK. When the sleeper is in use there is only 'dinette' seating. The small space provided for the table made it impossible to pull your legs between the chair and table so it was necessary to climb in. Fine for small kids, but not adults. Since we like to invite our grandkids (and their parents) over to visit we do hang out in the room and it was too small for us.
That said, It is a step up from Motel 6.
We were told it had a queen sofa sleeper, turns out all the 'standard' rooms have a double, but all the people answering the phones think they are queens, the mattress was too thin, good thing we travel with a foam pad, as unlike most timeshare resorts they do not provide them.
The bathroom was plenty large and had a nice seat in the shower, but the shower was too small, and it took at least 5 minutes to adjust the water temperature.
Closet and drawer space was good and there were enough hangers, a full size washer and dryer were included--with complimentary soap as well! Nice touch.
The kitchen had lowered counters to accommodate a wheelchair which didn't work for my daughters handicap which makes it difficult for her to bend. The refrigerator was small, under the counter, and had no ice maker. As all the other rooms have ice-makers there are no ice machines in the hall, so our bellhop Donovan brought us ice so we wouldn't have to pay for it. The microwave was also a convection oven and was a bit complicated but they provided an instruction sheet and it worked just fine. We had to ask for the promised blender but it showed up quickly.
The indoor pool was nice but the hot tub was only warm. It was a warm day in January and the sun deck was lovely, especially when they turned down the volume on the music.
There are no grounds to speak of but there are several shops on the back of the building which we didn't try.
The king size bed in the bedroom was very comfortable, and there were more pillows than we knew what to do with.
I would go back only if I could get one of the larger rooms.

Room Tip: Get a deluxe room

Stayed at the Blugreen Club 36 January 16-19. This spot is about a 15-20 min walk from the Las Vegas strip and about 5 mins by car. A rental car is defiantly needed if you are stay at this spot. You can rent a car from E-Z car rental at the airport for about 15.99 a day and we were given a nice spacious car mid size car. The resort has subway, a pizza joint, and a liquor store. It is very close to the airport so you will hear planes fly over frequently. The view is not great... depending on what side of the resort you are on you can see the Luxor and Mandalay Bay Hotel. Seems like they are expanding so its some construction going on but nothing that gets in the way of your stay.Overall the rooms were clean, the hotel was nice. I would only recommend this spot if hotels on the strip are completely booked. If you have more questions just shoot me a private message.

This is a nice place stay off the strip. ABC store, subway, liquor store and bagel store are all at the resort. We went to the grocery store and filled the kitchen with snacks, drinks, and food. What we did forget we were able to get at the ABC store at reasonable prices.

I just want to thank Toki for her excellent customer service. She was so quick and efficient, she greeted us everyday which made the stay feel allot more welcoming. She suggested places to go and things to do. Its people like her that makes the stay and the return worth it. I also want to thank Karen at the front desk, she was quick to provide assistance and made sure we had everything we needed. Definately comming back again. :)

BLUE-GREEN CLUB 36

Never, ever again will we stay here or sign-up for a Blue-Green presentation.
In early January, 2013 we signed up for a 3-night vacation in Las Vegas with gifts for attending their time share presentation. When we made our reservations with the hotel we found out two lies from the salesman:
We could not have the presentation on the day we picked, but on the second day, which interferes with our schedule. We also found out that there was no full breakfast at the presentation, only cookies and coffee. We complained but they pulled out the “we aren’t responsible for what the salesman says” card. Many messages left with the salesman and with a manager of Blue Green in Florida were not returned.
Today we got an email to confirm our reservation. The salesman also promised free rides on the sky tram. He said that the hotel would take us to any hotel, the Convention center or the airport. They do not have an airport shuttle which is unusual for even cheap hotels in Las Vegas. There is a one-way shuttle to four locations, which never worked for us.

The room was narrow: small kitchen & living area, bathroom, small bedroom. There is no microwave. The king-size bed in the small bedroom had on night stand on the side by the wall and there was less that a foot of space between the wall and the bed making it difficult to get into and out of bed. As explained in the B-G presentation, the small room – all ending in a B- were for renters and the adjacent larger rooms - all ending in an A - were for owners.

The staff is friendly, nice and helpful.
The 32” LG TV s could not receive any HD channels as the hotel has a basic TV package. The Club 36 printed channel guide lists nine of the channels as HD.

B-G is selling a vacation plan with 20K points for $3,200 and $1,329 fees/year. When you reuse, they keep dropping down to lower plans. We were lucky to get out in less than 2 hours by repeating that we were not interested. The woman who gave us our gifts said that most people stay in for 3-4 hours.

The LOVE show gift tickets that B-G gave us for surviving their presentation were for the balcony. Luckily when we got to the box office in the Mirage they up- graded our seats to the top of the lower section. The balcony would have been very disappointing as one would be too high to see all of the show properly.

The dinner cards are for not of any of the known and/or better restaurants in Las Vegas, and, as we were without a car, too far away.

Room Tip: Don't stay in the rooms ending in "B".

The rooms were exceptionally stunning with all the amenities you have at home (wahser/dryer, stove top, kitchen size refrigerator, small eating table).
