“Good Peaceful Hotel devoid hustle & bustle”
Reviewed 19 July 2014

Quite as compared to the image of Las Vegas, peaceful and calm. Rooms are good, comfortable, value for money. But if you want action, search further. Hospitable, polite and helpful staff. Breakfast was excellent , wide variety even for a vegetarian like me the choice was good.

I stayed here during my trip on reward points, fully expecting to pay extra fees (taxes, resort fees,...) The entire stay ends up being completely free. What a pleasant surprise.

Eventhough this hotel is not on the strip, it is very close. You can walk to most places on the Strip. All in all a good value hotel.

Why did I stay here in the first place? It was supposedly a decent place to stay for business travelers who wanted proximity to, but not immersion in, the strip. Decent price so employer was happy. It ended up being hell. I was kept up all night by neighbors who blasted into their room at 2 a.m, and started loudly partying. I called the desk. Neighbors quieted down for 2 minutes and started up again. Worst night of sleep ever, I went to the desk the next day and demanded they take some kind of action. Neighbors by this time had doors propped open and were partying in the hallway with other neighbors. Like high school prom crowd taking over a hotel. BTW the crowd here was not the most appetizing or clean in general. Anyway, I'm platinum. The desk told me that the loud neighbors were platinum too, so they couldn't or wouldn't do anything, like move the loud neighbors to another room. Why bother being loyal to a brand if they don't lift a finger to retain your loyalty every now and then? (there was no upgrade at check it). Also the place is dark and depressing. The pool looks like the municipal pool in a run-down neighborhood - bleak cement landscape. Neighborhood was a little sketchy with all kinds of characters congregating outside at night. Things I found on the ground outside the front door: a hair weave and a tiger-pattern bra. Lying on the sidewalk. Yuck. So this place depressed me and sleep deprived me so much that I finally - after 3 days here - checked out and moved into another hotel on the strip AT MY OWN EXPENSE. Yes I paid for my own business trip rather than stay here for 2 more nights. Bellagio had a deal going (like all strip hotels! stay in any one of them!) and it was like moving to sunlit civilization after a stay in a noisy dark box. Never again.

We stayed there for one night only so we can take flight from Vegas back to Boston. Bidded online and got the $55 deal. The hotel is located conveniently next to the high roller, monorail, and the strip. The staff there are friendly but due to our short stay we didn't have time to enjoy many of the services they recommended. If you are looking for a good bargain near the strip this is ideal.

We have business trips to Las Vegas a few times a year, and have found the Westin to be perfect - close enough to the strip to stroll to dinner, far enough off that traffic isn't a problem. Suede restaurant is a delight - good - even elegant - food, prices are reasonable, and crowds are minimal.
Probably the best thing is staff attitude - everyone we encounter actually seems to like us!
Bonus - it is right near the new High Roller "Worlds Biggest Ferris Wheel."

What are you gonna do? The Westin in Vegas has SO much competition! Every year a bigger/better/more modern/fancier hotel/shopping mall appears and the Westin soldiers on, hosting airline personnel and TDY military men.

The pool and deck are laughably small for a Las Vegas property. A plain rectangle and a hot tub in the world of waterfalls, lazy rivers and wavy beaches! But OK. Sometimes it's good to take a break from all the--well, Vegas.

Rooms are a bit well-worn, but they are clean and the beds are clean and comfy. The restaurant looks boring, BUT the food is really good. Starbucks is good. Service was attentive. Elevators looked modern and were fast. We had a nice view of "The High Roller" (and lots of parked cars) from an upper north facing room.

The parking is quite easy and free. No problem there. Easy walk to the Strip albeit a bit sleazy with homeless and trash.

Non smoking hotel but the smoking-allowed casino still manages to pollute the air. OK though, it IS Las Vegas, not Utopia or Heaven (Hell?) on Earth as every new property would have you believe.

Nothing super special about the Westin, but that's OK. The service and staff were very attentive, helpful and nice. Getting around the hotel doesn't require huge hikes across miles of casino or involve long check-in/check-out lines either. Overall: B to B-

Room Tip: Get a high floor, facing north or you will see the employment center and Bally's side.

Green Features: Most people and drunk partiers in Vegas probably ignore all the attempts, but nice try and good luck!

This property has high end amenities but with low impact in a non crowded environment.. Felt comfortable with my Daughter there and I did not feel like one of the crowd. As a SPG gold member it helps. Staff was great and attentive.

Green Features: Starwood preferred guest the way to go. I liked getting points for going green and skipping maid service one night.
