The Westin Casuarina is always a dependable standby for me when my favorite Strip location isn't available or the rates are too high. The Heavenly Beds and Shower can't be beat, but this reboot of the old Maxim Hotel could definitely use some updating. The Heavenly Shower and bathroom are still fantastic, but the old style tub could use an update. It's way too high and you have to step well up to get into it. A walk-in shower would be much better - do away with the tub. The bathroom also has no fan so it can get pretty swampy.

There is a minibar but I wasn't given the minibar key when I checked in, nor was one offered. The desk clerks were friendly and efficient, but lacking polish. Staff in the restaurant were very friendly, efficient, and anticipated needs, but and the food was good, but not quite worth what was being charged for it.

I really enjoyed the pool area, which is small but well situated for sunbathing and afternoon light. The pool area includes a bar, showers, cabanas, and a whirlpool, and is tastefully decorated and well looked after.

Some like Vegas for all the strip, glitz, buzzing casios, and cheap food. The Westin Casuarina is none of that...and for me, those were good things! The casino is small and not so "in your face." The restaurant, Suede, was good and fairly priced. And there's a 24 hour starbucks on the property.

The rooms were large, and simply done with more of a minimalist/Asian style...and had their signature heavenly bed and shower!

The gym was well equipped and clean.

The spa is a bit pricey, and I found out too late that they served free drinks during treatments. A nice touch.

Sadly, they wanted to charge $13 per day for wireless or wired internet.

You are there and still, if you prefer, you can retire to the Westin, situated at the Flamingo Road, say 5-10 minutes walking distance from the Strip. I am very happy that we chose this hotel, while it is being there and still not being there, if you prefer. No wonder, that several airline crews were always seen in the lobby cheching in and out (they need a good night´s sleep). The check in was very efficient and friendly. The consierge was also very polite and helpful.

The Westin has a very nice restaurant, if you prefer to stay "at home". We had the best of service, by Eric and the Ahi tunas were perfect! The breakfast buffet was very good with lots of fresh fruit and also the bacon was crispy. Of course they have a casino, not quite as gib and loud as many of the big hotels, but quite right for us.

The rooms are pretty normal (for being Westin), good beds and clean bathrooms with their amenities( products, showers etc).

The Pool area looked good, but because it was so very hot that day, I did not use it. We went to the Strip and when it got too hot to walk, we just escaped inside to an airconditioned area.

Didn't know about this place. Did priceline and this is where they put us. Was kind of scared before we arrived. But the Westin was the perfect place. The rooms were very nice. The rugs in the common areas need some attention. The casino was small but was great. It was nice to have a slower pace. The strip was in walking distance. Though I would not recommend a woman to walk it alone at night. It is kind of isolated.

stayed at this westin this week for two nights on a business trip. It is actually a great location a long block away from the strip and definitely walkable. I had a room on the Starwood Preferred guest floor. Only really a couple complaints: 1) Wall are paper thin (I could hear my neighbor come in early morning, turn on the TV and order room service and when he did finally fall asleep, I could hear him snore. UGH). 2) The bed linens smelled like bleach the first night in my room - not the second night. Food was just okay in the restaurant - they do offer free wine and beer to guests in a private area - which is nice. Pool was smaller than I thought and little shade is offered unless you want to pay for a cabana. There are definitely better hotels in Vegas but I am trying to be loyal to Starwood to earn my points!

The Westin Casuarina is a few blocks from the strip, but within walking distance. The handicap accessible room was tiny and it was hard to get around with a small mobility scooter. The bathroom was great for our needs. The bed was very comfortable.
