This place is at the top of the Strip and well serviced by bus. We had an awesome view of the Strip. The rooms are a little tired and they are renovating.

Pros:
Great location, great views.
Free access to the tower (well worth up trip up to see the views across Vegas)
Reasonable price for the strip
All day Buffet. It is a basic one, but if you are selective you can eat healthy and avoid all the fast food crap that most eateries sell on the strip.

Cons:
No free WiFi
No coffee in room
No free access to Business Centre to print boarding passes.
No Free Breakfast

This Hotel has the potential to be great! But seems to be fleecing it's customers with all the little things that make a good hotel great!

Room Tip: Ask for a Renovated room - these may have better facilities. And definately get the Strip view!

We stayed at the Stratosphere in September 2010, and found it to be a nice hotel with pretty decent accommodations. We tend to spend so little time in the room, that we don't book huge suites or spaces we just don't need. Our room had a nice, comfortable king sized bed, and it was clean and cozy.

There are two pools, and (as with most Las Vegas casinos), the hallways are a pretty long walk to get anywhere. There were some shops on the main level and the hotel featured some shows that were pretty popular. We ventured to the top of the tower to ride the thrill rides. There was some delay for maintenance of the rides, but once we were up there, after a quick shot of liquid courage, we conquered the Big Shot and the X-Scream. There is a restaurant at the top of the tower, but we didn't dine there.

A quick tip for folks staying at the Stratosphere - don't walk anywhere! This hotel is at the north end of the strip and a bit of walking distance to the busier areas. The Sahara Hotel was closest until it closed in 2011. There was a lot of vacant land, and if you're out walking, this is a pretty shady section of town.

Your best bet for navigating the strip quickly is to take the monorail. Most folks take the buses - and they're fine - if you don't mind sitting in traffic and stopping every 50 feet or so. The monorail station runs from Sahara to MGM Grand with stops in between, and if you're looking to get to the southern most hotels, across the street from MGM is the Excalibur, which operates it's own monorail to the Luxor & Mandalay Bay. The monorails are clean, rarely crowded, and a much faster way to get around than the buses.

Excellent value for money although a little bit further down the strip.

Buffet excellent value. Italian restaurant excellent food and good service. Plenty of reasonably priced shops in the tower.

Rooms were very clean - view wasn't too good but all round.

Concierge very helpful and friendly and also found us good tickets to see Celine Dion

Room Tip: A rooms with a view would have been nice - not sure what side we were on but all we could see from 6...

We stayed here last Saturday night, had a good time, room was clean. VIP check in was fast and flawless, they even gave us our players club cards in the VIP lounge as well as some bottles of water.

Room Tip: Will ask for south facing room next time to have a better view of the strip.

Pros: Hotel rooftop is VERY cool. Rides are a lot of fun...but that's it. The hotel needs a major facelift and you will need a car rental or pay for numerous taxi's because its literally 3-4 miles from the main strip! But for the price its not so bad.
