I loved it! It was beautiful! It had restaurants in it which were "pricey" but it also had a McDonalds in it so that was awesome ( We had dinner but then we had cheap snacks). The view was marvelous. It is however, quite a walk from the main strip. We walked it but we also took a taxi, the taxi ride was $10 to Treasure Island. So very many taxi rides and it would get expensive. We didn't get the room we reserved online but they did give us free tickets to one of the shows.

I'd say that without the rides at the top of the tower then this hotel would've been closed ages ago. It's tired and needs refurb. Its quite a way from the rest of the Vegas attractions and unless you're doing the rides it's not worth the trek out there - especially when there's so much to see elsewhere, it's at the far end of the strip and is approximately 3 miles from MGM. We had the buffet here and it was only around $8 as they had closed the diner for its fortnightly deep clean so the buffet was heavily discounted. It was worth the $8 but I'm not sure I'd be bothered paying much more than that.

The rides, however, they were fabulous, the team manning the rides were really helpful (especially with nervous people) and dead friendly. Well worth paying to get the photo's at the end.

We had a nice "select" room on the 16th floor, comfortable beds, not too soft or hard. Room had a safe (but very small), no coffee machine (but coffee available in lobby).
Access once a day to the tower, quite good, went up twice, can be busy at night (queued for 45 minutes), a bit of a walk to the tower entrance through the shops.
As this hotel is not on the "strip" get more families here, consequently pool jammed during the day mostly by kids. Reasonable IHOP round corner for breakfast rather than expensive food in the hotel.
Get the "Deuce" bus to visit other hotels on the strip or drive to the valet parking of the selected hotel.
Cheap hotel but watch out for extra resort fee of $17.99 + tax charged.

Room Tip: Upgrade to a "select" room, don't get the 8th floor (swimming pool).

Stayed here for two nights on our way on Route 66 from Chicao to LA. Got a room at 10th floor. The room was as expected, with very comfortable beds. A very small combined toilet and shower, but the most important was that all equipment was in good order and working fine. Nice shopping facilities within the hotel, including eating places / cofee bars and ordinary bars. You wont miss anything.

They say never revisit somewhere you once had a good time. This is true of the Stratosphere, on our first visit in 2012 we were automatically upgraded because of our long stay ( most visits here are only for the weekend ) of 2 weeks, room was great with all the facilities . This time another long stay but no upgraded this caused problems as there was no safe in the room, we had to carry all our money, passports etc. around with us all the time. Wifi, although free, was impossible to access.
The percentage pay out of the machines was not as good as the first visit. Felt a bit ripped off!
The show Pin Up was a disappointment.
The restaurants were a bit of a mixture, Buffet a disappointment , Roxy´s good, Macall's very good.
This was a big spend holiday, expected a lot more for the money.
Will not be returning a third time!

Room Tip: Make sure you get an upgrade if you can.

Stayed here with the wife and in-laws in the select rooms are very nice. The Tower bar was very fun great happy hour very cool to sit up there and spin around and see all the sites of Vegas. The only drawback of the hotel is that it is on one end of the strip that's easily solved by getting a bus pass.

If you are planning on paying with a credit card, make sure to leave it open to your room and charge room services, movies, anything you are planning to spend on so you can receive comps at the end of your trip.

First off, make sure you upgrade to the select rooms from the deluxe. The select rooms were renovated in 2009. Only downfall is no coffee pot or mini fridge. We stayed on the 10th floor and we're able to see above the parking structure with a nice view of the town and mountains facing south, rooms were clean when we arrived.
Staff were friendly and professional, from the reception to house keeping and everyone in between! Buffet for vegetarians is not worth it. Staff for the buffet were kind enough to show us their selection before buying, even though there was a long line to get in. But, there are plenty of other places to eat!
