its a very good cheap motel for staying in las vegas. no security deposit so you will have extra money to spend. it has small rooms but you only need the room to sleep in. there is so much to do in las vegas you wont want to stay in the room.

I had to attend an emergency meeting in las vegas on saturday and every hotel was sold out or ridiciously expensive so i decided on motel 6 tropicana next to the mgm grand and hooters. WOW stupid decision...

If you like the smell of marijuana and smoke you will love this place. I was so grossed out by this place, I understand motel 6 is a value chain and your going to get a basic room with no frills...When I got there I went to check in and they lost my reservation for a newly renovated room, so they gave me an older room which was a smoking room. I accepted it because every other hotel was either sold out or about 350 a night (yes even the Excalibur and the Sahara). Upon walking to the room which what seems 2 miles away I was greeted by 2 men smoking some marijuana and making obscene gestures toward people walking by, finally at the room I walked in and the smell of smoke overcame you. I walked in and the beds had smoke holes all over the comforters, the TV didn’t work, the floor looked like it haven’t been vacuumed in months, wow the list goes on and on... STAY AWAY STAY AWAY!!!!!

Never again will I stay here.

Stayed 3 nights during NAB convention. The location is terrific, for me it was good being close to the monorail to get to the convention centre. The room was clean and tidy and I wasn't worried about the area. there's a good restaurant next door and a handy store on site.
Unfortunately the rooms are really not very comfortable. The mattress was dreadful, felt like some old spring thing they found on the side of the road. There was a hard kitchen type chair and a weird little banquette seat that was useless. Basically there's nowhere to sit and watch tv. Very hard to be comfortable and relax. They should lose the banquette and provide at least one comfortable chair to sit in. And spend more than $20 on mattresses.

Stayed here overnight while in between flights. This is a very big complex. My only complaint was that i had a long walk down a dark area that did not feel very secure. I did not have any problems, but i think they should have more lights or an escort on a golf cart or something. My walk from the office to my room was the equivalent of about two city blocks. Since i didn't have a car, it was a long walk.

The upside was that the staff was good and helpful. The room was about what you'd expect for a Motel 6.

Second visit to this motel, its opposite the massive MGM, and 5 minute walk to the strip. This place is a no frills, clean, friendly, unintimidating place. Travelling alone and a female, feeling safe is a must, I did here. Security walk round the premises all night. The pool is a good size, clean and pretty Supermarket on site, restaurant next door, good breakfast deals. Rooms, newly renovated, flat screen telly, modern, but basic decor. The airport is across the street too, well the start of it, taxi is more economical than a transfer. Staff very nice, maids didn't come round every day though. A visit to the outlet mall is a must. Tickets for the bus can be bought from lobby in MGM, 45 minute journey. I booked on internet, for 7 days, it cost me $150. Well worth the money.
