We used the timeshare at this resort. Rooms are very nice. Staff is super friendly and helpful. Washer & dryer right in room and not coin operated. More than one pool and hottub. Pool very nice. Games room. Restaurant on site, good food, reasonable price. Was really close to the APEX center where my husband had to go for the SEMA show. He only had a 4 min. walk. Free Shuttle service. Would definitely go back and recommend this resort.

We just returned from a 5 day trip in Las Vegas with another couple and had the time of our life. The Holiday Inn's location is perfect to all the locations that we were interested in. We were able to walk to most locations, if not cabs were quick or the shuttle was handy. Loved that we had a 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom unit with full kitchen. Our unit was spacious enough that we didn't feel crowded and very clean. Husbands loved the TV in each room, wives enjoyed the in unit laundry. We were in building 19 and even though it is farthest from the front desk we were appreciative of the usual quietness with the occasional loud LV fun (us included). Can't think of any complaints with our unit except we found the bed and pillows a little firmer then we are used. Grounds of the resort with beautifully landscaped, well labeled with directions, clean and fun, 5 pools and several indoor/outdoor hot tubs. Only compliant with had with our Tiki Tide pool area was the pool was a tad cool for us and we found that the hot tubs were over loaded with chlorine. But that might not be a bad thing ;-). Other best thing was the sense of security, appreciated check in gates at entrance of resort. We will be back, hell ya, sooner then later.

Room Tip: Rooms on the lowest level most convenient as there are no elevators but there is an increase in A/C...

We checked in to this resort for a week. We have a Timeshare and traded a week to stay in this resort. Overall, we were quite pleased with the resort. The staff are fabulous, the shuttles were very convenient. The room itself, we had a one bedroom on the third floor overlooking the main pool area, and while a little small, and the layout wasn't that great, for a couple only, really not a problem.Needed some upgrading though, looking a little dated, and the carpets were not very clean. The bathroom is accessible only through the bedroom and the vanity and bath were open, but toilet had a door to it. Not really a fan of the layout, and I like to have a little more room, but again, it's workable so long as you don't have too many people with you. Kitchen area was great, everything in working order. So, if we were to stay here again I would upgrade to a slightly better option as far as the layout goes, and hope they do some more upgrades with the work they are doing. We loved the area, not far from the strip, you can walk it, but like I said, shuttles were there and they have a very nice schedule-dropping off to various locations. Cabs were easy to get also.

Overall, we had a very enjoyable time, would come again. We did use a pool area one day and used the hot tub. Did not get a chance to grill though they have grilling stations and we did not eat at the on-site restaurant. There are a lot of awesome places to go eat so we chose to eat away instead.

Room Tip: If you don't mind stairs, a 3rd floor room is not a bad way to go!

Thank you for your very candid feedback.
We appreciate your comments and wanted to let you know that we are in the process of renovating all of our 648 villas. Because of our high occupancy and demand, it becomes a longer process, but we already started last year and completed four of our resort buildings.
We look forward to your return stay in one of our newly renovated villas.

We booked a 2-bed apartment with RCI points, as that was all they had available at the time. There were only 2 of us, so we had a bathroom each! The apartment would have be fine for 2 couples though. Washing machine & dryer were great to have, as I'd already been in the US for a week with work, and had a suitcase-load of laundry to do.

We had a room facing Koval Lane, which looked across a building site to the big wheel being erected behind Bally's & Harrah's. OK, it wasn't the best view in the world, but I imagine once the wheel is operational, it will be one of the iconic views of the city. And yes, it was a bit noisy from the road, but when I walked further into the resort, you didn't have the view of the Strip, you could have been anywhere in the world, and there was always air conditioners humming away. If you're a light sleeper, or relaxing on your balcony is important to you, I'd avoid the road-facing rooms and any groundfloor apartments. For us, view towards the Strip, and the convenience of being by the club house / front gate, outweighed the noise. Walk to the Strip was only one long block, but as it was past the building site on gravelly side road, it wasn't a particularly nice walk, but safe enough, even at night.

We had a great time here. Having stayed at another RCI-affiliated property a few miles away, Grandview, in March I'd summarise by saying we had more fun on the Strip staying at Desert Club, but Grandview was a nicer apartment, and Southpoint casino (right next to Grandview) was cheaper than casinos on the Strip. Wifi at Holiday Inn Desert Club was free and faster than my connection at home, but it was expensive/difficult to connect at Grandview.

Took 2 day trips, booked via Viator - Death Valley and Rafting on the Colorado from the Hoover Dam. Both good, Death Valley more interesting.

Onsite shop was very useful, and Gold Rush cafe was OK for quick evening meal, when you can't be bothered to walk anywhere, but breakfast there on our last morning was slow and poor quality, as they were very busy.

"Tiki" pool towards rear of the resort kept the sun later in the autumn afternoon, if this is important to you.

Room Tip: Rooms facing Koval Lane are noisier, but better view. Each groundfloor apartment had 3 air condition...

Thank you for your feedback. We are glad that you liked the villas facilities and spacious accommodations. Once completed, the High Roller Ferris wheel across the street will be the highest ferry wheel in the world, including the one in London and Singapore.
In addition, they will have a promenade of stores, restaurants and a two story old fashion bowling alley and clubs. As you said, definitely an iconic attraction just across the street.
Also as part of our renovations, we will be insulating these villas with double pane noise insulation doors and windows for our guest's comfort and convenience.

We look forward to your return stay.

Sincerely,
A

This was booked for 5 ladies week away. The 2 bedroom kings were great, the bathroom in the master was a bit akward for 2 ladies sharing due to no bathroom door for the tub/shower in the room. There was lots and lots of storage space for unpacking, suitcases etc. The sofa bed's mattress was a little thin so 5th person opted for a couch sleep instead that worked ok. The staff were great in helping plan shuttles, shows, delivering extra coffee, towels, pillows etc. Pleasant and swift service @ all times. Very convenient to the strip and will get better once the construction infront of the hotel is done. Great pools, BBQ's etc. available. Definately would recommend it to anyone for a stay just off the strip in spacious, well appointed suites.

Room Tip: a ground floor suite has slightly larger balcony, upper floor would have no foot noise from above bu...

Loved how close this resort is to The Strip! They provide complimentary shuttles to and from certain areas but even if you miss the schedule, its just a short leisurely walk going towards all the main hotels. They have free wifi and not to mention, they have a convenience store right at the clubhouse! My family and i had a very pleasant stay and would definitely stay at this hotel again.
