“Good option for no-casino property.”
Reviewed 13 August 2014

At the entrance to the hotel, we were stopped by the parking lot attendant that made sure we are qualified to enter and that was reassuring security-wise. The front desk service was good in general. The check-in took a while and the receptionist was just ok. not more. They had an employee (sorry I can't remember his name) that gave us water when we stood in line, helped with orientation a couple of times and was very pleasant and welcoming. There was one night clerk who also was very professional yet nice :) - it was a rainy night and she snuck us through a shorter way. (again, can't remember the name, sorry)
The hotel is a few blocks from the strip, but for a minute, at 1AM, it didn't feel comfortable to stumble upon a drunk or two on the way to the hotel by foot. During the day the walk is nothing. The monorail doesn't stop close to the hotel even though it runs just near by. the hotel operates a shuttle to a few sites and that's quite convenient. The hotel room we had smelled from cigarettes, even though we were asked to sign that we won't do it. it's a general problem in Vegas I guess. The hotel's structure is something like 10 or 15 separate buildings. If you go in and out by foot, you might want to consider a building that's close to the main building. The restaurant for breakfast was quite nice and the order is from the menu with no buffet. The food prices were mid-range. Pool side nice with not many people yet is was nothing to write home about. I think they have a pool for every few buildings.
Last thing - there is NO casino and not even a slot machine all around the hotel. It is very good for a few reasons unless you came just to gamble. we found it *very pleasing* in such a noisy and gamble related City.

Room Tip: In some buildings it could take a few minutes to walk up to the main building. If by car - maybe tho...

We recently stayed at the Desert Club Resort during my 17 year old son's basketball tournaments in Vegas. If you are looking to get away from the smoke and gambling, this is a good family choice. It was really nice having the kitchen and full-sized washer and dryers. The pools were very nice and the property was clean and has a good degree of security with guard service at the entrance. The furniture was of average quality and the couch bed our kids slept on was not comfortable. Fairly thin mattress with spring issues. The condo did have two really nice, large flat screen TV's. The bathtub/shower area is huge and the best feature of the bathroom area. Vanity is on the small side. The staff are very friendly and helpful, but check-in was really slow. Also, be aware housekeeping does not come in during your stay. I needed my own coffee filters and had to call the front office for basic toiletry items to be restocked. There is plenty of covered parking near the rooms, something that helps quite a bit with the Vegas heat. Overall, this was a good value for our money and worked well for a basketball tournament vacation.

Room Tip: There are five pools on the property. I would simply choose one with easy access to a pool.

This is one of the better resorts we have stayed in. We were please and found the resort to be very nice, friendly and accommodating. The resort is only one block off the strip. It was nice to be able to get from the front of the resort property to the strip without feeling like it was dangerous or risky walk, even at night. The resort is located right behind the Quad, Harrah’s and the High Roller Observation Wheel.

Everyone in the clubhouse was very helpful and pleasant. The transportation desk was very attentive and organized. The desk staff was great, we were always provided excellent service. We even had a few unusual requests that were handled with no issue.

We were in building 9, room 303. It was a 2br deluxe and has been updated. It was on the third floor. There are no elevators in the room buildings. The room had two minor items needing repair (the dishwasher rack was missing a part and one dinning chair had damage causing tearing of the carpet), these were fixed within 30 minutes of my call.

The resort was more quite than we expected. They did a good job of trying to contain the few rowdies, but we understand the ignorance of some people and it cannot be prevented, it can only be policed. We were there for two weeks and the second week was much noisier than the first due to a change in the people staying in the resort.

Nevada and Las Vegas smoking laws are behind the times. Smoking in outdoor public areas is permitted. We never smelled smoke in the room, but when the wind, or lack thereof, was just right we could smell it on our balcony. It was also annoying in the pool areas. We were able to avoid it most of the time but if the wind changed directions then we could smell it. It would be nice if one or two of the five pools were non-smoking.

Pros

Very friendly and helpful staff

Clean well maintained facility

Covered parking – great in the Nevada desert summer sun

Grills, number and locations – there are grills at each of the pool areas, some with covered eating areas

Quick to do repairs – we needed a repair on the dish washer, it was done within 30 minutes of our call

Plates, silverware and cooking supplies well stacker

Cons

Not enough trash cans in some locations. Clubhouse and lounge area by main pool - there were no trash receptacles in either of these areas

No recycle receptacles anywhere in the resort

Toilet paper holders, in the rooms, are in a very inconvenient location

Need instructions for handling trash in rooms – people were dumping room trash bags in the area outside their door or near the other trash cans around the resort. They may not have understood that it needed to be taken the dumpsters

Small safe – the room safe was an inconvenient shape. Storage of a laptop and purse together was difficult because it is so narrow

No pen or note pad in the room – it would be very helpful to have a pen and not pad. There were a number of times I needed one while there to take notes

Refresh service for two week stay didn't provide all supplies. Laundry soap, pool towels, coffee condiments and toilet paper was not provided until we called to get them

Transportation shuttle busses could go out further – it’d be nice if a shuttle went up near the Circus Circus end of the strip

Room supplies skimpy – soap, TP, trash bags and coffee supplies were all a bit too few for a condo fit for 6 people, additional supplies were provided if asked for

Room Tip: Upper floors have ness noise but you may smell smoke if the people below you are smokers. Lower floo...

From check in to check out the customer service was amazing! Close to the strip but not to close so you can get away from the hustle and bustle of it. 5 pools! So your room is sure to be close to one! Gold Miners Restaurant... Great great people! You need to go say hello to Kirstie and Arihanna! They will take great care of you and you're family! Can't say enough about the absolute wonderful experience we had there!!!! We will be back!

This was our second visit and we were impressed with the room updates, such as tiling in the bathroom and kitchen, updated appliances and amenities. What will bring us back to Desert Club Resort, however, is the exceptional customer service from bell supervisor/staff Tony, Patrick and (Awesome) Jasem. They will pleasantly assist with taxi service, shuttle transport and just about anything you can think of that would enhance your stay.
Shuttle service is a huge value. Complimentary shuttle service to the Rio, Freemont, Bally's, Harrah's and other locations saves a ton of money, compared to taxi service. Be sure to request transport to Freemont at least 24 hours in advance to secure a seat to this popular, but worthwhile destination.
Check in was easy; Liz gave us an awesome updated room and the short wait (checked in after 30 minutes) was worth it.
We'll be back again.

Room Tip: Ask for a third-floor room if sensitive to noise.

We decided to take a hotel in Las Vegas instead of camping with our RV, because it was so hot. We booked this hotel for two nights at almost the same price as the KOA camping and it was a very wise decision. We had a suite, with one bedroom for 4 persons (two sleeping on the sofa) and although the beds were not great, the room had everything we needed: airco, a very complete and clean kitchen, a washing machine and dryer (incl. powder), a dishwasher, a shower in a very big bath, separate toilet, 2 tv's and a (gas) fireplace. The decoration was not exactly our taste (I rather have no flowers in the toilet, than plastic flower) but I guess this is a matter of taste.

The swimming pool was clean and big. Very nice gym. Furthermore the location was convenient, a 10 minute walk to the strip (over a very, very hot concrete parking lot). There is a small grab and go store in the reception area.

The check in took ages and I have no clue why. They kept on staring at the computer screen and typing. This good be better organised! We parked the RV nearby along a public road without any problems.

Excellent place! Sadly we've stayed there only 1 night, but the apartment had all necessary items and more than enough space for 4 of us :)))
Me and my 3 friends took Two-Bedroom Suite.
A hotel worth for visiting!!!

Room Tip: Two-Bedroom Suite is good for 4 people!
