“Fine place to stay”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 12 December 2008

After staying at the MGM signature earlier in the year, for this fortnight we decided to try mid strip. bally's seemed a no risk venture. Prices aren't as high as paris, Planet Hollywood or Ceasars and the Bellagio.

me and my wife wern't dissapointed.

Room was in the South tower, no view and you cant open windows, but hey..if you want a view..walk outside.

Room was very clean with housekeeping coming generally before lunch everyday. We stayed in a Deluxe room, It hasnt got all the gizmo's and doodads of some hotels, but you aen't paying for them.

No coffee making facilities..so bring a plug in kettle, no refridgerator either although i beleive you can request one for a charge, and the the safe if used is payed for at checkout.

Those were my only gripes, But the ice machine is free down the halls so we generally had a bottle or two in the ice bucket. and a coffee was only an elevator lift away.

I liked it and although i liked the signature better and would love to stay in the bellagio , paris or ceasars..bally's wont dissapoint you, and leave you that much more money to shop with drink with or gamble..and slap bang mid strip.

  • Liked — it's location and friendliness
  • Disliked — minor peeve that no coffee making facilities are available

As former Stardust guest, my husband and I decided our "new home" would be Bally's. Once we find a place that we feel is comfortable we stick to it and Bally's has what we need. Calm, cool and collective. We usually go twice a year for 5 to 10 days,(booking through SWA) and enjoy the 2 for 1 casino action and feel safe walking back and forth from Bally's to Paris. The pool is a wonderful haven with a true deep end where we both feel very comfortable with our 40something year old bodies! Being right in the middle of the Strip is an added bonus and Monrail access is wonderful. Complain if you must about room decore and the the such, but let's be honest, if you wanted the Wynn, then book a room there! The rooms are big, bathrooms the same and you have what you need. So go and have some fun at one of the last Vegas classic hotel and casino.

I have been in the travel business for many years and I neved had to complain, but the standard of the accomodation at this hotel is the worse I had in all my life (room 7008) is in a very poor condition and I do not understand how they can rent to clients, the carpet is old and all furniture need to be changed.
I will never stay at this hotel again.

Stayed for 4 nights for getaway with my mom. Was trying to decide between the Paris and Bally's. Decided on Bally's ultimately because of the slight difference in price. Although Paris is a prettier hotel, the 2 hotels are "sister resorts" and connected by the shopping promenade. So you get to enjoy all the common amenities without the cost. Excellent location...centre strip...within walking distance to almost all resorts on the strip. We walked from Circus Circus to MGM Grand over 2 days...bring comfortable shoes!! Definitely pay the extra $$ to stay in the North tower. If you like a quiet room make sure it doesn't face Flamingo Blvd. which has quite heavy traffic. Inner room was extremely quiet...didn't hear a peep from any ajoining rooms, which is very rare. If you book through Expedia and book a deluxe room be sure to bring your confirmation...as often happens with bookings through expedia (in my experience) they don't get the "extra details" with the booking....good to have "proof" right there. Smooth check in...5 minutes wait. Good basic accomodations in terrific location.

  • Liked — Excellent location mid strip
  • Disliked — Restaurants - mediocre food. Go to Paris (sister resort) for better selection.

Being newbies to Vegas, I combed through the Vegas Tripadvisor site for suggestions on places to stay. After a few months of research, we decided upon Bally's because we couldn't pass up the deal we were getting through a package deal with Orbitz. Of course, that was for a South Tower room. After a 3-1/2-hour delay in Chicago, we arrived at about 5:45 on Monday, 11-24, to check in. No line at all, walked right up to a younger, apparently new check-in clerk. She was so pleasant! What a joyful way to start a vacation. She was all smiles! I inquired about an upgrade and was told North Tower would be an extra $21.40 a night. Since we were only staying four nights, we agreed. She put us in a "higher" room, 2032, on the 20th floor. Not a bad view...mostly of the distant airport runways but that was fine.

First impression was that room was very clean. Bathroom very large and very clean. Bed was somewhat hard but after long days of walking the strip (along with a 3-hour time change), we literally fell into sleep comas every night regardless. We did have a small coffee pot in our bathroom that made one cup at a time. Who ever heard of such of thing?? I ended up going to Starbucks at Planet Hollywood every morning AFTER I had my one cup in the room. The shower spray KILLED me! I have never had such a strong shower. I actually had to adjust the spray lighter to save my poor skin! All-in-all, I was impressed with the size and cleanliness of the interior of the room although, as previously mentioned, the windows were very dirty on the outside, making the view less appealing.

Maid service was excellent. We only left our room for a few hours at a time and whenever we came back, our room was always refreshed. We left our maid a good tip.

Wasn't impressed with the food choices available at the hotel so therefore did not eat there.

The slots were extremely TIGHT! I lost everytime I put money in a machine at Bally's but did okay other places, like Bellagio and Planet Hollywood.

Great place to stay if you're just looking for somewhere to rest your head for the night and a central location within walking distance of pretty much everything.

Just came back from a 4-night stay at Bally's and we are completely satisfied. Location is great. Quick access to Paris and parking garage. We were given a renovated room in the North Tower and it was more than sufficient. The building overall is showing some age, but not to the extent that it negatively impacted our stay. Would recommend the hotel, as long as renovated room is available.

  • Liked — Location, value for money
  • Disliked — Smoky casino, but what Vegas casino is not smoky?

We were upgraded to the newly renovated rooms, so this review may not apply to the older rooms.

This hotel offers a great value in my opinion. We paid approximately $50 a night, which was the lowest available price on the strip. I was extremely impressed with the size of the rooms. The room was very clean.

The hotel is also in a prime location on the strip. We did not need to use public transportation or a taxi except for the airport. We walked everywhere we needed.

The restaurants that are in the Paris side of the hotel were also excellent!
