“Lovely Mountain Views”
Reviewed 17 October 2013

Had planned a trip to Red Rock Canyon but could not go there due to government shut down. Happened upon this attraction by chance and were so thrilled to be able to enjoy a least a portion of the beauty and majesty of the landscape of the area. The park is lovely, has walking trails and some historic points of interest.

“Lovely Place!”
Reviewed 16 October 2013

Small, but lovely. I first went there for their Summer Theater Program and loved it. I returned this month during the day to see the Ranch House and take a short hike. They have a beautiful picnic area and the hike was pretty and informative. The Red Rocks are not to be missed! So beautiful and interesting to watch the sun on the rocks during different times of the day. Cute wild burros right by the side of the road too!

“Home for Howard Hughes and others”
Reviewed 14 October 2013

Beautiful old homestead turned state park with meadows for picnicking. Nice home and out buildings. Beautiful Lake Harriet is a great place for a stroll and some photo's. Plenty of parking and only a short drive from the City of Las Vegas.

“A real surprise.”
Reviewed 4 October 2013

We love driving along through the Red Rocks area, but the National parks were experiencing the "shut down". So... We saw the road for this Nevada State Park. The ranger at the entrance truly loved his job and wanted us to visit and enjoy this park. What lovely surprise. The park was a homestead ranch with the main ranch house as the visitors center, many out buildings, fields of grass, animal corrals, a couple of spring feed reservoirs, a picnic areas, gift shop, guided tours available, and many hiking trails. A real find!

“Great picnic spot with beautiful views”
Reviewed 15 September 2013 via mobile

What a great park! 7 dollars a car for NV residents- there is a huge picnic area with shaded tables and large grassy field. Several bbq pits are available for use. There are several historic outbuildings and a furnished ranch house you can tour. There are many hiking trails, and a small lake you can walk around. Great way to spend a few quality hours outside. Also, only a few miles from Red Rock, so could easily go to both in one day.
